La Estrella Bakery Inc Reviews

Absolutely delicious Mexican bakery with a wide variety of desserts. We tried three different pastries and all were delicious. Beautifully made and fun colors! I was expecting to pay several dollars especially as the prices weren’t posted. Imagine my surprise when the total was around $2! Great deal and I’ll definitely return.

Though the indoor space is small, there is a large outdoor seating area shared with the rest of Mercado San Agustin. The staff were very friendly.

This bakery was recommended to us during our visit to Tucson and so glad we went. It’s in a beautiful courtyard market that includes restaurants, boutiques, and a coffee shop. Pastries are delicious and not dried out at all (which I am picky about). The gal at the counter was nice, helpful made recommendations since we were unfamiliar with most Mexican pastries.
We got concha’s, donuts, empanadas, and a few other things she just put I our bag for us. We also bought a bag of homemade tortillas that were still warm. All of this AND a bottled coffee drink from the fridge for only $20. Go here!

I cannot say enough good things about this place. Authentic pastries and they all taste great. The Apple empanada was delicious but there’s something about the classic glazed donut that did it for me. Prices are phenomenal. We got four pastries for $4. That’s how much one donut can be at a specialty bakery. Don’t change La Estrella bakery, you’re doing a good job!

We went here with our autistic children and they were so welcoming and kind! They had the absolute best puff pastry on their turnovers that I have ever tasted. Literally perfect! Crunchy and flaky and soft all in one, just phenomenal and an absolute sensory experience.

I used to think this bakery was awesome, but it seems to have slid down the scale to “average” as bakeries go. They don’t have a huge selection but they are in a great location at the Mercado which helps their rating. Also, their storefront is pretty bare bones.

Excellent, small bakery in the Mercado. They have variety of delish pastries and other baked treats. Quite inexpensive as well! I recently got 6 baked items for less than $5!

Best tortillas in Tucson. There’s a reason why the big ones sell out every morning. Also great empanadas and cochitos.

They have the best Mexican Pastries and Tortillas! This particular La Estrella is at the San Augustin Mercado on Congress. They have it all from glazed donuts, cuernitos, pan de huevo, empanadas, cochitos, and much more. Their green corn tamales are decent too. The service is good but you have to be there early because by afternoon it’s slim pickings. Their main bakery in on 12th Ave and Drexel. Highly Recommend 🙂

Good empanadas. Good glazed donuts. Good location. You can get Fresh Tortill. Fresh Hot Tamales every morning if you like from Thursday to Sunday.

literally went there on Monday on the last 30 minutes before closing and the girl at the front insulted me with sarcasm. I walked in all friendly and right away she responded me with sarcasm and clearly wanted me out. Never going there again.Food might be good but customer service is unprofessional.
