In the gourmet category, there are options like Amy’s Almond Joy, a donut covered in chocolate frosting, with almond and coconut topping and hot fudge drizzle. Or how about the Bananas Foster, coated with banana frosting, topped in banana chips, and with a caramel and fudge drizzle.

The shop is open daily from 5am to midnight. You can dine in, get takeout, or order your food for delivery to your door.

The story behind the chain is an unusual one. The founders made their first donut the day before their first shop opened! But four years on, there are 20 stores across the country.

The range is eclectic, the service is good, and the prices are reasonable. The shop offers takeout only, and it’s open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Happy Hour Donuts doesn’t have a physical location. You order their donuts online, and they’ll deliver anywhere in Colorado Springs. And these donuts have something special about them – they’re dosed with a dash of alcohol!

The flavors include bourbon apple fritters, maple bourbon cinnamon rolls, strawberry margarita, and coffee cake, featuring coffee flavored liqueur.

For special occasions, try the champagne donut, complete with gold sprinkles. Or perhaps the Raspberry Rosé, with rosé wine and pale pink buttercream roses on top.

Custom orders are accepted with a minimum of 24 hours’ notice. Just fill in the online form. Note that there are some restrictions on quantities and flavors. For mini donuts, you need to order at least ten of each flavor, and for regular donuts, the minimum is six.

The shop in Fountain is open daily, from 5am to 2pm Sunday to Thursday, and 5am to 4pm on Fridays and Saturdays. Dine in, head to the drive-through, or order for delivery to your doorstep.

You can usually choose from options like the Colorado Cream, a donut with chocolate frosting and filled with Bavarian Cream. Or there’s the Bullseye, a raised glazed donut with a raspberry, lemon or apple filling and vanilla drizzle.

And you shouldn’t leave without sampling the special – the horseshoe shaped donut with chocolate frosting.

This is a drive-through only restaurant, and it’s open every day from 6am to 2pm.

The customer service is excellent, and the prices are very reasonable.

Wimberger’s is open from 7am to 3pm Tuesday to Friday, and from 7am to 2pm on Saturdays. Note that this is a takeout only option.

The food here is designed to be allergen free, but that doesn’t mean you have to compromise on taste. The donuts are some of the best you’ll find anywhere. And while there’s not the same range of flavors as in specialist donut shops, everything here is top quality.

Choose from plain donuts, or those with icing and frosting. The flavors on offer are lemon, strawberry, chocolate or vanilla.

Other sweet treats include cookies, mini loaves, scones, cupcakes, waffles and coffee cake. Or choose from savory bites including soup, breakfast sandwiches, salads and focaccia pizza.

The shop is open to dine in or get takeout from Tuesday to Saturday, from 9am to 4pm.

The donuts at the Donut Mill are both delicious and reasonably priced. Go when you’ve worked up an appetite!

There’s the usual range of espresso drinks, plus batch brew, cold brew and frappe. You’ll also find plenty of other hot and cold drinks. And as well as the donuts, you can snack on pastries, fruit, oats and burritos.

Dine in and enjoy comfortable and spacious surroundings. Takeout is available too. Opening hours are 7am to 6.30pm Monday to Thursday, 4pm to 8pm on Saturday, and 7am to 2pm on Sunday.
