It offers more than 50 types of donuts daily. The menu includes classics like the Old Fashioned Buttermilk, Chocolate Frosted Cake, and an apple fritter.

But there are also renowned specialties like the Memphis Mafia Fritter. That’s a fried donut with banana chunks and cinnamon with glaze, chocolate drizzle and peanut butter. It’s topped with chopped peanuts and chocolate chips. Yum!

Voodoo is open for takeout seven days a week, from 8am to midnight. Note, though, that there’s no dine-in or delivery option.

Okay, so Lard Lad may not be a name that gets your culinary juices flowing. But this is the home of what some customers have called the best donuts they’ve eaten in their lives.

They’re fresh, soft and tasty. The star of the menu is the Big Pink, so named because it’s pink and – you’ve guessed it – big! This is a donut the size of a pizza, and it’s designed for sharing. The same goes for the apple fritter, which is easily large enough to feed three people.

If you’re a fan of The Simpsons – and who isn’t? – you’ll recognise the Big Pink as Homer’s donut of choice. And Lard Lad, located at Universal Studios, recreates the famous donut shop in the show.

It’s open from 11am to 8pm, Monday to Friday, 10.30am to 7pm on Saturdays, and 10.30am to 9pm on Sundays. You can get takeout, but there’s no delivery service at present.

Bakery Plus is an unassuming donut shop with a basic website. And make sure you go armed with cash, because that’s the only way you can pay. But don’t be fooled. Behind this simple façade lurk some truly excellent donuts.

Customer favorites include the maple bar and lemon curd filled donut. They also do a good line in breakfast sandwiches, and everything is made fresh on the day.

They’re open from 6am to 1pm, Monday to Saturday, closed on Sundays. Get there early though. They make what they expect to sell – so if you arrive towards closing time, you won’t have much choice.

Expect creative specials to celebrate the holidays, plus a range of exciting flavors at all times of the year. Everything is made from scratch on the premises too.

The shop is open for dine in, takeout and delivery, seven days a week. From Monday to Saturday, the opening hours are 8am to midnight. On Sundays, they close at 10pm.

And if you’re in the mood for something small to satisfy your sweet tooth, they’re all available as mini donuts too.

The shop is open every day except Sunday. On Mondays, the hours are 8am to 9pm, on Tuesdays through Fridays it’s 8am to 7pm, and on Saturdays it’s 8am to 7pm. You can’t dine in, but takeout and delivery are both on offer.

Donut options include the Lou Donut, featuring Maker’s Mark bourbon maple glaze, Heath bar, Hershey’s chocolate chips and brisket burnt ends. There are only six signature combinations, but they’re all great. And if you want, you can go off-menu and customize your own donut.

The truck is open for business every day. The hours are 11.30am to 9pm Sunday through Thursday, and 11.30am to 10pm on Friday and Saturday.

The shop is open 8am to 7pm on weekends, 7am to 2pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays, and 7am to 7pm on Fridays. It stays closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. If you decide to eat in, you can enjoy their whimsical line in unicorn murals.

DG Doughnuts is open every day from 7am to 5pm for dine in, takeout and delivery.

The shop is open daily from 8am until whenever they’re gone. Check in regularly, as you’ll always find new flavors on offer.

Se7enBites serves up nostalgic southern comfort foods with a modern twist. And that includes some excellent donuts.

Readers of local newssheet the Orlando Weekly voted Se7enBites the best place in Orlando to have breakfast. It’s easy to see why – the menu is carefully thought out, and the food is delicious. And the range of sweets – which goes much wider than donuts, excellent though they are – is impressive.

This isn’t the cheapest place to go, and it’s not dedicated to donuts. But if you’re interested in top quality food, you shouldn’t miss out on this Orlando gem.

It’s open for dine in and curbside pick-up from 8am to 3.30pm on Thursdays and Fridays, and from 9am to 4pm on the weekend.
