Krispy Kreme Reviews

This is my favorite Krispy Kreme in the area! I have been coming to this location the past 15 years. The staff is always friendly and helpful. I have never experienced them running out. Bathroom is usually clean. It is a very busy location typically so check your chair before sitting down for donut sprinkles . Krispy Kreme are the best donuts in my opinion. The kids love coming to this location because you can watch the donut making process.

Mini Original Iced Strawberry and Glazed Sour Cream cake donuts were great
Original Glazed mini and lemon filled glazed donut were good (I think raspberry glazed would have been better but they had just sold out)

I usually try to be positive with my reviews but I have a few complaints about my visit to Krispy Kreme today. First the dining room was closed even though its listed as open and there is even social distancing instructions posted on the door. Since the dining room was closed I was forced to use the drive through which I find to be a struggle on the best of days. Of course the drive through lived up to my expectations with the drive through person being abrupt, continuously interrupting me and being absolutely unhelpful in any way. I have to say the worst part of the experience was finding out they were out of the Oreo special donuts which is the whole reason I went there in the first place. In my opinion if you are going to call something the special donut and promote it all over the place you shouldn’t run out of it! So after my overly long battle with drive through person I was able to finally select a dozen donuts and pay for them. I do have to admit the donuts were absolutely delicious and the glazed donuts were hot and perfect! So if you are willing to struggle through the customer service ordeal you will be rewarded with delicious donuts!
*9/2/2021 – I’m adding a few pics from recent visits. I stick to my original review. There customer service is weak, but their donut game is strong

I recently visited the Raleigh store.
Let me just start off by saying that the customer service was A+. The store looked clean and inviting.
Super friendly staff that greeted me and my family as we entered the store. I was able to speak with the manager, Mike. I had a few questions about the donut process. He was more than willing to explain the process to me. He couldn’t have been a friendlier person. Overall it was a great experience and more importantly a fresh, quality product. Every time we are down in NC, I make sure to check out this spot.

My son was treating me for my birthday so we went and got a box of the Twix doughnut’s, sorry to that the original filled doughnut topped with chocolate and twix was stale and the one that was supposed to have a whole twix bar in it was filled with chocolate. Needless to say I am very disappointed in this box and it wasn’t what I expected to get at all. I won’t be trying anymore new limited time specials.

Krispy Kreme is a part of American history. I was born and raised in Central Florida. Every visit to Daytona Beach included a stop for donuts. It was an old store just like the one in Raleigh. Watching the machinery make the donuts fascinated me. “Hot Donuts Now” is code for eat until you’re sick. Their coffee isn’t bad either.

We LOVE Krispy Kreme! I’m so happy we are able to enjoy these. Unfortunately, my kids were disappointed today because only the drive-thru was open. At this location, we used to love watching the donuts being made. We are hoping that this opportunity will return.

For some reason, they have the walk-in part of the store closed all the time. Twice in the last year on a day when they are running a promo they have been drive through only, and I walked there so I couldn’t order. Since they basically are located in a neighborhood it is a little silly to not be able to serve walk-up customers. If they at least posted the hours they were drive through only that would be really helpful. Or if they installed a walk up window that would be great!

The only reason I’m giving more than one star is because their donuts are consistently good and fresh. However, they need some help with customer service or some new employees. I’ve had multiple experiences with them being rude or impatient. I placed an online order two days before picking up that had mostly specialty holiday donuts. When I went to pick up at the drive thru, at first they couldn’t find my order, then they wouldn’t answer me, so I pulled up to the window. The lady stuck her head out and yelled “we don’t have any of those donuts”. No explanation, no apology, no offer to take another order. She acted like I’d ruined her whole day and needed to just move along. The whole thing was a terrible experience. I’d had those donuts planned for a family event and figured that ordering 2 days in advance I would get what I paid for. The donuts are good but don’t expect friendly employees and definitely don’t order online.

Really some of the best donuts out there. This particular location has the factory window so you can watch them being made on the conveyors. A hot glazed donut fresh off the press is next level.
