Rise Village District Reviews

Slow service and super dry food. So so so dry.

Edit (because I can’t respond to owner): Yes, it was the village district location. We ordered an Apple fritter, a chicken biscuit, and a BEC biscuit. All were extremely dry. We came around 9am on a weekday.

A very good in & out breakfast location with a few outside tables. I enjoy the simplicity of the menu and the creativity of the doughnuts. The drink selection is underwhelming.

Nice grab and go breakfast spot. Vegan options available. I had the tree hugger, and I really liked it!

Build your own biscuit. Do I really need to say more? Chicken biscuit with bacon, egg and American cheese.

Rise is quickly becoming one of my in and out breakfast restaurants! I ordered online, the time they gave me was spot on. The food was delicious, and the employees were very nice, as usual. I appreciate this restaurant, they were there when I needed them.

Staff was so lost when we ordered it got it wrong then argued with me telling me she doesn’t UNDERSTAND how can you not understand your JOB IT’S SIMPLE MATH…..the way I’m disgusted with this establishment is beyond me don’t waste your money nor time.

Based off the YEARS of bad reviews in regards to one employee named Tim. I went to pick up my order today and it hadn’t properly submitted online. This is fine, a technical error, but I was frustrated because the total had been drafted from my account. I don’t think it’s acceptable that the business would remove money from my account until the order is fully complete and submitted. I fully understand that the charge is a temporary hold that will ultimately be lifted but that takes a couple of days before that goes through and the money is back in my account which is unacceptable. Furthermore, when I tried to express that this is poor practice, the incredibly disrespectful Tim acted like I didn’t understand the situation telling me “if you don’t have a confirmation email then you don’t have an order.” I understand that the order didn’t come through, but if I don’t have an order then it is absolutely not ok that there is any kind of charge or hold on my bank account. The fact that he is still working here after years of documented poor service is ridiculous.

The only real knock is it does seem to be slightly over priced, however this may have something to do with the diverse menu they offer. I always like to find places with a variety as they offer. I went with the “Treehugger” which is biscuits and gravy with vegan sausage which I enjoyed. I have tried some vegan sausages from grocery stores and they aren’t as good as theirs. Admittedly, regular pork sausage is much better but I haven’t eaten pork in almost 2 years. Apart from the actual food, the customer service was very good. Considering they are more of a grab n go type place it is nice to see that they train their employees to provide outstanding service. Everyone in the store was friendly, which is what you want first thing in the morning. I have been in several places in Raleigh where the employees almost act as you don’t exist. Great customer service is the key to restaurants and Rise definitely embodies that.

We placed a catering order for the office and basically sampled every flavor they made. Perfect intro to their delicious donuts. Entire office just experienced mass sugar crash, so … Mission accomplished? A+++ would eat donuts again.
