This is a fantastic donut place! Winston-Salem may be the home of Krispy Kreme but now they have stiff competition. The donuts are soft, moist, and delicious. There is a variety of toppings and Glaze you can put on your donut. Endless combinations I’m sure a mathematician can figure out. They also have special flavors during certain times of the year. Duck Donuts is more than your average donut shop as they also serve milkshakes, coffee, and other drinks. They take call ahead orders and sell sweet swag like t-shirts and plush toys. The wait usually isn’t that long. They also now have vegan donuts.

Duck Donuts is 100% in the competition for the BEST DONUTS in Winston-Salem. Not only is it currently the fastest growing donut shop in the United States, but it also originates from the Outer Banks, North Carolina! opened. Their name comes from the city, Duck, NC, where one of their first shops opened.
Duck Donuts specializes in cake-style donuts, which are denser than the airy donuts found in Krispy Kreme and pack much more flavor. The moment you walk inside one of these stores, you will be smacked with the mouthwatering smell of warm donuts being made. The donuts are made-to-order and have an abundance of various flavors and toppings.
Please check this place out if you’re looking for a donut shop in addition to Dough Joe’s, Krispy Kreme, and Dunkin Donuts. You will NOT be disappointed!

My second time going and yeah I definitely had to go in and get a half dozen. First time was so good I had to do a FB live video of my reactions to the donuts. Was blown away. And asked was I returning? No doubt about it.
Now as if the time of this post your can see it’s near the fall season and you can see the fall lineup. The donuts I bought shown here is as follows… From left to right you have
Apple Cobbler, Pumpkin Roll, Strawberry chocolate, French toast, Cookies and cream, and Chocolate caramel crunch.
To me, I can choose this over Krispy Kreme just cause I can make the donuts my own based on my taste. Nothing better than having something personal right? Glad my co-workers told me about this and couldn’t have been happier to have went. Give em a try if you haven’t, you won’t be disappointed.

The Duck Donuts Experience (Walk-in Edition). On this day, I went to Duck Donuts, and once inside, I was like a kid in a candy store. Marketing material was everywhere, which made it hard for me to decide what I wanted. I knew I only wanted two doughnuts, but in my mind, I wanted every doughnut I had seen, lol. So, I decided on their Pumpkin roll that came with Pumpkin Icing and a Vanilla Drizzle and Caramel with Pecans doughnut.
After placing my order, the staff member dropped two doughnuts in oil. While my doughnuts were cooking, another staff member grabbed two doughnuts from a box sitting to the side I saw upon me entering. I told her I wanted the hot doughnuts. Once out of the oil, the doughnuts were dressed and placed in a box. I must admit the doughnuts did not make it out of the parking lot, lol. I took a fork and enjoyed the hot freshness of Duck Donuts in my car. For me, these doughnuts are to be treasured while hot and not cold.

If you have not had Duck Donuts before or if this is your first visit to their stores these are fresh made cake donuts. You can customize your own toppings or choose from several different versions. I tried the Bacon in the Sun, which is cake donut with maple icing topped with chopped bacon topped with a salted carmel drizzle. This was an amazing combination.

Wow, wow, wow! They hand make your donuts right in front of you. We got the St. Patrick’s day assortment box, and they look fantastic! I ordered a “bare” donut to taste their product without all the toppings- and let me tell you, that is the best, warm, crunchy, delightful pastry I’ve ever had the privilege to eat. Yum!!!

Very eclectic flavors that are delicious. I would give it a try if you are in the mood to please your sweet tooth! I have gone a few times and they are always really delicious! I am a huge fan of the key lime flavor and several others!
