We stopped by to get a few baked goods and got a tomato cheese biscuit/scone and two donuts; a raspberry glazed with chocolate drizzle and an Earl Grey glazed. We also purchased a sugar cookie. The biscuit was AMAZING!! Perfectly baked with the best amount of herbs and salt with a bit of a peppery bite! The donuts were also excellent! Warm and delicious. The Earl Grey glaze was very delicately flavored with a bit of lemon. The sugar cookie was a bit crumbly. The frosting on the cookie was really good and not too sweet at all. Highly recommend this gem.
The decor is very Southern Living and welcoming.☺

What a neat donut/coffee shop! There are plenty of indoor and outdoor seating options and seems like a perfect location for a first date! We tried an iced latte, iced mocha, orange glazed donut, and cookie monster donut sundae. All donuts are made to order, so you won’t see them sitting in the case. They come out hot and fresh, prepared just for you. The ice cream for the sundaes is also house made. Everything was great, but the sundae will always be the standout in my mind!! It was an excellent treat, and I’m so glad we got to experience it. Would absolutely go back if I were in the area!

It was our first time trying the popular dough Joe’s warm donuts! The donuts were fine but coffee did not taste good! We love the area around and esp the trails nearby!

INTRO: The place is known for their cake donuts, which are much denser than the donuts found at Krispy Kreme, but their sundaes are extremely underrated. There aren’t that many tables inside the cafe, so don’t expect to find a spot to do work here.

ENTREE 1: Donuts ($1.75 each) – There is a wide variety of donut flavors, which will either be a hit or a miss. Most of the time, the donuts are a hit, but every so often, the donut will be a miss. A few of the holiday donuts were considered misses, which was surprising since they looked tasty. Because these donuts are cake donuts, they also have a tendency to be dry compared to your standard donut. 6/10

ENTREE 2: French Toast Sundae ($6.00) – This sundae is the perfect combination of french toast and ice cream. The warm cinnamon sugar donut underneath the french toast ice cream with maple drizzle is the pick-me-up you didn’t realize you needed. Whether it’s a cold day in the winter or a hot day in the summer, this sundae will always hit the spot. 10/10

DRINK 1: Matcha Latte ($5.25) – Extremely bland. The matcha flavor is not profound at all. They do use a wooden whisk to mix their matcha drinks, which shows that the establishment knows what they’re doing. It’s just unfortunate that their matcha lattes are weak.

WORTH IT? Absolutely. The donuts are worth trying, and the sundaes are worth coming back for. (Overall 7/10)

Such a cute little donut & coffee shop! Awesome selection of coffee drinks both hot & iced with unique seasonal flavors; and cake style donuts that are served warm & you can customize flavors with toppings. The setting is great – there’s indoor seating / couches / tables / booths / bar stools and then right outside is a ton of round outdoor tables. The staff is always friendly. It does get crowded & the line gets long but it moves quickly!

The Dough-Joe’s Doughnuts & Coffee Experience (Walk-in Edition). So I first tried Joe’s Doughnuts when they were on a food truck before they relocated inside a physical location. I enjoyed the fresh smells coming off the food truck and the anticipation of getting a hot fresh doughnut. So I was pretty excited to see the ambiance of their shop. Once looking and walking all over Reynolda Village, I found their site. Upon entering, at first thought, I was in the wrong place even though I walked past their sign.

The vibe of this spot made me feel as if I was walking into a tea or coffee house. A place where Wake Forest students would read or study before a big exam. I did not feel as if I were in a place where doughnuts come first. I say that because some of the first things I saw upon entering were muffins and a menu for various teas. After looking at the menu and seeing doughnuts, I ordered one Glaze and one Caramel doughnut. I sat inside and waited for my two doughnuts to come out.

Once at my location and eating, I did enjoy the Caramel glazed doughnut. The glazed doughnut was ok and had a slightly overcooked taste. Would I go back to Dough-Joe’s Doughnuts & Coffee? I don’t think so for a couple of reasons. The parking in Reynolda Village is not the best, the decor/vibe is off, and how Joe presents the doughnuts are not that different from Duck Donuts, but Duck offers a more extensive selection.

These are the best old fashion donuts! The area is very nice with picnic tables and patio tables too. They make everything fresh to order, so delicious ☕️ fun name too! Due to covid they are like a little to carful so they seem pushy and only let one party in at a time to order and you can’t sit inside so that’s a minor thing that I hope will change! A must go to for some needed coffee and donuts!

Cozy place, good coffee. I’d love to come back and give the donuts a try!

Fantastic spot that’s perfect either to stay a while and relax or go for a walk in Reynolda Village. For being a small shop, they actually have a good amount of seating both indoor and outdoor. Great rustic cozy vibes, great coffee/tea, and great pastries. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area!
