Trefzger’s Bakery Reviews

It’s not often you step into a bakery that’s been in business for over 160 years! Although it’s been in several different locations, the name and delicious creations have endured.
A huge assortment of cakes, pies, cupcakes and cookies greet you as you walk in the spacious renovated warehouse size bakery. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the baked goods are always top-notch!

What a unique & exciting bakery! Very reasonable prices too! My daughter enjoyed her cookies, $1 each. Big open seating area, excellent ambience, friendly staff!

It’s a good bakery. The double choco chip cookie and apple Danish are really yummy. Place is filled with some really artistic people who have a passion for baking.

Trefzger’s saved our wedding! 10 days before our wedding our bakery in St Louis decided they could not provide our simple wedding cake (too small for their big business..) so we called Trefzger’s and they made the most beautiful and delicious cake! The short time frame alone would have been impressive but the quality and freshness were the real highlight. Thank you all so much! It was exactly what we wanted!

Wow, so many items and such a excellent selection. So yes bought quite a few items to indulge in. Hidden treasures here, make it your destination!

INCREDIBLE! We got a two tier cake and two sheet cakes for our wedding day. They were all delicious and not nearly as expensive as I anticipated!! Our guests couldn’t stop complimenting the taste and look of the cakes. The tiered cake was designed to look like my embroidered wedding shoes. It was stunning. 10/10

I brought my mother whose 85 years old to have coffee and a bakery good. The coffee was very old from this morning and tasted very strong with 4 cream and 4 sugar. It ruined the taste of our peach strudels. I’m very disappointed with James and how disrespectful he was to me, a Kenyon! I’m very disappointed with Trefzger’s bakery and service.

Martha did an amazing job on the cake for our wedding. I will post pictures soon. Thank you so much for the beautiful and delicious cake. My grandparents used you for all of their special events and it was very important to me since they are no longer with us that we had Trefzgers be a part of our day. Amazing job and we will make trips to your bakery on the future. Thank you so much.

So I have recently discovered the cupcakes at Trefzfer’s. Sounds silly but I have always had the cookies and danishes. But I AM IN LOVE WITH THE CUPCAKES!!

It seemed like a cool place. A local staple (although I’m not local). They had lots of delicious looking things. I grabbed a few cookies and my family got some cupcakes and cinnamon rolls. The danishes and such were huge and looked good. The cakes looked wonderful with lots of fun flavor combinations to choose from. My daughter loved the orange chiffon cake and they even gave her some extra sprinkles. Very nice. Seemed like good people.

I don’t want to put down a much beloved local spot but a few points to mention:. They strangely seem to use the same buttercream for everything. They had some eclairs which usual have chocolate ganache on the top but we’re slathered with a thick layer of chocolate buttercream and the same for the eclairs and chocolate cream puffs. Monster cookies (the oatmeal and mix-in cookies) were flat and a bit over priced ($3+ each…they warned me it would be more expensive than the others for the record), and cream puffs were the size of my fist (not a bad thing just…off).

I’d happily go back but it isn’t a place I would make a special trip for. I’d call it an above average local bakery and be lucky to have it in my neighborhood.
