Shipley Do-Nuts Reviews

I love to go there once every two weeks. Fresh batch of donuts every morning!

This place serves all bread and no sausage in their kolaches. Your first bite and your last bite is nothing but bread. I went to the new Shipleys on 1626 in Kyle and they serve REAL kolaches that actually have a sausage inside of it and not just a small loaf of bread.
Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.

Delicious consistent product! I love the Big Earl and the kids always want the donut holes.

Come here almost on a weekly basis and 9/10 they are out of donut holes! I love their kolaches and enjoy the mix of salty & sweet with a few donut holes. Every week I’m hopeful that they’ve worked out their inventory issues and I’m disappointed every time. We arrive several hours before closing and I would think donut holes would be a staple, especially on the weekends.

This is my favorite donut shop. They are fresh. The staff is friendly. They bake there in the shop and you can get fresh donuts all morning. Yes, they are still baking mid-morning and it is fabulous. The kolaches are great. Get the one with the jalapeño, just do it.

One star for refusing to serve me at the drive through window when there was 2 minutes left till the official closing time so I could buy my son two doughnuts. One of the store workers looked right at me and completely ingorned me. Then put a tray rack in the way to block my view of him. This is how you lose customers for life. I will NEVER come back to this store because Shipley’s wanted to close early instead of what would have taken thirty seconds.

I asked them what a kolache was and they said it was a baked good filled with sausage and cheese, and I specifically asked “when you say sausage, do you mean a hotdog wiener?“ And they said “no, it’s sausage.“ It was hotdog wiener. I took like two bites and threw it away. Also their donuts are stale even if you go early in the morning somehow. Go across the street to KC donuts.

Wow! The selection was kind of daunting, especially for a 10-year-old! Everyone really liked their choices, including huge cinnamon rolls and gigantic maple frosted long johns. We will definitely be back!

Don’t bother after 9am – inventory management is absolutely abysmal at this location. By 9am they will almost certainly be out of donut holes as well as a lot of the most popular iced donuts. I’ve lived on this side of town for over a year now and it’s never improved. Honestly they should just close up shop at 9 each day.

Also a little perplexed by all the reviews touting “friendly staff”. I’ve never been mistreated but the staff is certainly nothing exceptional and they are generally pretty unsympathetic when they’re only able to fulfill 25% of your order due to inventory problems.
