Café Du Monde Riverwalk Reviews

Crunchy on the outside and soft in the inside. They bring 3 beignets per bag and they are pretty large! If you don’t eat that much, one bag of 3 is enough for 2 people to taste.

I had a frozen coffee and it was very refreshing.

For the Heritage and the culture it carried it deserves a 5 star.
A long line before you start and all the way into the café you get to see a lot of things that says about the history this place carries.
Coming to the food I really dint care about the coffee taste and the French donuts were good except for the insane amount of sugar powder they put on them. The Café is always crowded and hygiene is a bit compromised.
CASH only business is a bummer even at this point in time.

Used to be a good place but they have dropped their reputations. Dirty dining area, unmanaged tables. CASH only (Jan 2022). Thousands of people still love to stop by here but there are many other similar place and better test.

My friend hadn’t yet experienced New Orleans beignets. I had to take her to the location serving the best beignets in the city. Café Du Monde has a few locations in the city, and these are hands-down the tastiest desserts you can get. We went to the location inside the Riverwalk mall as it was easily accessible from our hotel. There was a decent line, however it moved fast. Their coffees, both hot and frozen, are must haves. With how expensive it is, if you are looking to take a piece of New Orleans back with you, they sell a mug with coffee for only $6!

The beignets come in servings of three pieces, and it only cost $3.40 plus tax ($3.72 total). These delectable desserts are lightly fried dough topped with a copious amount of powdered sugar. They are extremely fresh and warm when served, and they are best enjoyed while still piping hot. They are served in a little paper bag, and the trick is to fold the bag, and vigorously shake it so that the powdered sugar is covering every inch of the beignet evenly.

This location is the perfect spot to get a classic staple dessert in an indoor setting with a massive window looking out on the river.

We went to Cafe du Monde almost every day during the New Orleans trip. We can’t say no to the delicious Beignets, those little guys are so yummy, they go very well with coffee!

A great cafe du Monde right at the Riverwalk. Easy to access from the Hilton hotel and surrounded with lots of other food and shopping, this cafe is just as good as the original. The beignets are made right in front of you and you can see the employees tossing the dough in the fryer. The whole process is in front of a glass window similar to Krispy Kreme, but much more enjoyable to watch. It’s very fast and the beignets come out piping hot.

Watch the beignets get tossed into the deep fryer and enjoy the powdered sugar covered French doughnuts.

Some tips:
Don’t inhale when eating a beignet
Don’t wear dark colored clothing. The powdered sugar gets everywhere
Ask for the sugar and doughnuts to be separate if you’re getting them to go

Tried their beignets at this location and French Market. They were delicious over 20 years ago but the quality and taste have diminished. It’s doughy, cakey taste is not desirable. After one beignet, I was done and threw the others away. I’ve had better at Loretta’s.

Yummy beignets and coffee, nice staff. Got a mug too! Very historical though the beignets were very sugary, would recommend to tourists

The beignets taste like funnel cake. If you like carnival food don’t come. The frozen mocha taste pretty good. But not worth the line.
