I cannot say enough about Ziggy and a beautiful and delicious cake that he created for my daughter’s bridal shower!!!!

Please do look closely at the delicate and intricate detail! Its truly a total work of art as you can see!

Take a look too at the beautiful petit fours and pastries!!!! What a treat! He personally delivered this and I was blown away!!

My sincere thanks to my neice Ashley for ordering this for my daughter ! What a SWEET gift!!! Thanks too, to Ziggy!!!!

This is the only time in my life that I have felt moved to leave a negative review. The person working the counter, an older gentleman, was so incredibly rude when I came in with my boyfriend and his 80-year old mother. We arrived just before 2:30pm. The couple in front of me was making conversation with me as they waited to pay for their order and the employee was visibly impatient and kept interrupting to hurry us up, even though there was no line. Then when we ordered and my boyfriend’s mother sat down at a table, he stated, “Don’t get too comfortable there. I close the dining room 30 minutes early so that I can mop.” My boyfriend asked if we could eat our pastries there quickly as it was raining heavily outside and he scoffed and said, “no. I have to mop the floor.” Ok, understandable, but it might serve him well in the future to indicate this on his sign outside so that people know they can only get to-go orders during the last 30 minutes. Or, he could have told us this when we first came in to order. I used to go to this place all the time when I first moved to New Orleans and lived uptown, but I won’t be returning. There are other wonderful bakeries in town that don’t greet customers with such a sour attitude. If he keeps this up, he’ll have plenty of free time to mop his floors and attend to whatever else needs tending to without the burden of customers.

I just saw the response to my original post- and I have to say I was really impressed by it. The response feels genuine & like I said before- I know how hard it can be to be constantly cheerful for the public. We’ll be back and I’m changing my rating to five starts. I really appreciate the apology and the response.

Original Post: We’ve been going here for years and years. The staff changes constantly so service has always been so so (although if you are lucky enough to catch Ziggy, an owner, he’s amazing). I come from a restaurant family, and I’m well aware of how difficult it is to deal with the public and so I don’t usually get offended by a salty attitude. This morning I was bringing my girls to school and we stopped in- they got their usual, a cinnamon roll for one and a jalapeño sausage croissant for the other. We stepped outside to eat: they usually warm the croissant, but this morning it wasn’t warmed. I told my daughter to go back inside and ask them to warm it (I believe that it’s Ziggy’s bro-in-law working the counter)- she was nervous and I told her it would be fine, they weren’t busy and to go ahead. Well no- she got a lecture about how she was supposed to ask when it was ordered, that he usually won’t heat the food if you ask after it’s ordered. After the lecture he did warm it, but she was mortified. She’s 13, very soft spoken and very polite.

I don’t understand this- but I don’t need to. There are plenty of other bakeries we can give our money to, so no worries Patisserie- you won’t have to warm our pastries anymore.

I know times are hard but DANG was this place expensive. The prices are significantly cheaper on their website, which is the reason I went, but oh well. The pastries were fine but not to my liking. They were very hard as opposed to being soft and appetizing. Some people might prefer that, though.

Offerings look delicious but I didn’t buy because upon entering at two pm I was informed that I could only take my purchases to go, given that the staff had to spend the last open hour cleaning up. Too hot to eat outside. Perhaps the owner should advertise curtailed hours, or pay staff to stay later?

Rating 3 stars due to the fact that this place has the worst hours , and not only closes very early, but it is only open Wednesday through Saturday, even though Google Maps lists this place as being open today (Tuesday) for example, and they were not open today . Sign on the door says Open Wedsday through Saturday, but I did not get a look at the hours, but know they do close pretty early, from many past experiences trying to visit, when they were closed. On a positive note, I really do love this place, but have so rarely been able to get anything in there, because of their horrible hours. Wish they were open on more days of the week, and would not close so early in the day. No idea when they close, but I have very rarely been able to make it there when they are open.

Such a quaint spot. The bakery goods are high quality. The gentleman that runs the bakery is such a joy. I would recommend this establishment to everyone.

I’ve been here twice now and both times have been nothing short of amazing. Selection is great, atmosphere is cute & the food is top notch. Will return for a 3rd time for sure!

Good pastries. Had to pay for 5 minutes of parking. No king cakes He did try to help me find another place in town that made them out of season….no luck.
