Café Du Monde Mail Order Reviews

There is always a long line but there are 2 lines. It’s seat yourself so once you get your food just sit. We had a party of about 30 so we sat and 2 people got the food. They were warm and full of sugar as always. Water to wash it down. The key is don’t inhale or exhale while biting.

There was a small line when we got there but the line moved quickly because of the efficiency of the staff. The line we were on was cash only and they were quick to give us our food and drinks when we ordered.

The coffee, got chocolate, and orange juice were good but the coffee is really what people come for. Unfortunately, I’m not a coffee drinker so I can’t comment on the quality of their coffee.

We got 3 orders of beignets, which contained 3 beignets each. The pastries were large than we expected but we’re clearly made a while ago as everyone was cold and soggy. There was so much powdered sugar and eating the beignets made quite a mess. Overall, decent beignets but I wish they were fresher.

The best beignets we tried by far. Definitely going back for more before we leave. The staff was so friendly. The setting/atmosphere was nice. All the lush green areas was nice.

This place is famous for a reason. Yes, there are lines. Yes, there is a mountain of powdered sugar everywhere. It is cash only (or was when I went). However, everything is affordable and delicious. Obviously you go here for the beignets, and they were crispy and sweet and just generally delicious. If you can, make this a stop on your trip.

Cafe Du Monde is a classic for New Orleans but the lines can be crazy. Pro tip, you don’t have to wait in line if you’re dinning in. Just find an empty table and sit down. THEY ARE CASH ONLY and the ATM has a large fee so take cash out before

Must really try. There is something on the bread that made it distinct. But, you have to eat the bread while it is hot. For me the coffee was nothing extraordinary. Lunch time all chairs are filled. try to Visit the place at late afternoon there are chairs and table available

First time to visit The French Quarter and Cafe Du Monde. The lady was very rude to my wife and I she gave us the wrong drinks and wanted to get loud and rude to us when we asked for the correct drinks. She blamed us and through the wrong drinks in the trash. I asked for our money back and will not ever go back to the Cafe Du Monde! Not the New Orleans experience I thought we were going to get coming here to spend our hard earned money on vacation!

So sad how it’s gone downhill. No service and beignets dry and powdered sugar like Little Rock’s that did not even stick to the donut!! Is this new fast food service a result of the pandemic? It’s worth seeing as an iconic institution but eat beignets somewhere else. Sad what it’s become.

I can remember the last time I visited cafe du monde and I loved it!! I couldn’t wait to come back. But I was so incredibly disappointed when I paid and was handed a bag of squashed beignets from a box by the cashier. The powdered sugar had gotten clumpy from the trapped moisture in the bag and the staff was very rude about tips. Not sure why they didn’t do plated beignets but it really was something I could have skipped on this trip to New Orleans. I recommend finding beignets in a sit down restaurant where they will be hot and fresh.

Atmosphere=5 star. It’s a historic old coffee shop right by Jackson Square and the river, so that makes for some pretty spectacular views with your breakfast. There was a band by the patio, and sitting outside and listening to the music was really fun. We were there about 9am on a Friday and there was no line. As people have stated previously, you can go to the take-out window towards the wall if there is a line and you’re in a hurry. If you’re visiting, definitely put it on your list of places to stop.

Beignets=2 stars. Meh. While they were fresh, it reminded me of a fried biscuit from a Chinese buffet. I thought they would be more light and pillowy inside.
