First, the young girl who helped me was not very nice and acted like she hated her job and being there. Second, have only been their twice now and I am not at all impressed with their items nor how they taste. Can definitely make cakes and cookies that taste far better. The second time I went was for doughnuts. Not only were they very low on product, what I did purchase (which was a dozen to share with my co-workers), again, was very disappointed and my co-workers agreed.
Don’t believe I’ll be back for a third time.

I had gone to the bakery in the AM to get a bday cake for my 11yr old. Their ATM machine down I told the I come after work. Called 30 prio to let the know I would be omw from Eastside might a few minutes. I could of pick up dtwn but since they told it be cool… I drove to this location, I was 2 minutes past 3 and refused to let me in. I’ll never buy anything from this locations.. last was a betch!

Been going here for over 50 years. Always good, fresh and done right. I order the large red heart shaped cookie for my wife on special occasions and she loves them! A dozen donuts from here make any day. Service is great and friendly.

As a local you grew up with Smith’s bakery that while the stuff is made elsewhere and brought in to the individual locations the help that sells it to you is different than the help that makes it so if you get a grumpy cashier it’s not Smith’s fault unfortunately

Best bakeries ever. I travel 4 hours to get the champagne cake and cupcakes. I have been going here for 40+ years and have yet to buy something that didn’t taste amazing!

Omg let me tell y’all this is the place for quality donuts and pastries. I love the maple bar and chocolate bars the bar is nice and heavy with a respectable amount of topping nice and soft and chewy best donuts ever with out the acid reflux you get from other cheap donut places. I recommend the cheese danishes and donuts if your looking for quality this is your place it’s a little pricey but you get what you pay for and more

A standalone Smith’s store, this place has much more to offer than simply donuts and cookies (albeit they could sell just that and still be amazing). Cakes, bread, merchandise, muffins and cupcakes…..nom nom. Great service as well with the two women behind the counter working as diligently as they could considering they were getting hit with a constant stream of customers and phone calls. The selection here was also better than smaller smiths stores in gas stations. Definitely my favorite between my home and work based off the one experience so far.

Went today 12/18 Tuesday before noon and the cookies were very soft, almost melted. They usually aren’t like this, maybe because of the holidays and rushed. Also, the staff – Caroline and another lady were totally rude! Rushed, wouldn’t let me explain my order (simple mix of a dozen cookies), cut me off and just plain mean. Never had an experience like this, they had a couple phone calls and seemed stressed bc of it but that’s not my fault! She tried apologizing bc she knew she was wrong but it wasn’t sincere. Next time I visit Bakersfield I’m going to the Union Ave location, they were nice and cookies were fresh.
