Cafe Du Monde French Market Reviews

Loved it here! Visited at 7am and there was already a jazz band out the front playing some great music. The coffee was a mix of coffee and chicory and is definitely worth a try.

Beignets are pretty much fancy powdered donuts but still worth trying. They are served nice and hot.

Come early for less of a wait.

The famous cafe du Monde, you are supposed to visit if you are in French quarter. I ordered only cappuccino so my review is based on that. I am not sure about what else do they have in stores. The ordering was a smooth process, the staff was courteous and helpful however they do not accept card so cash only. Bring cash when visiting. The taste of coffee was not extraordinary but average, I would prefer Starbucks on any day over this. Although it’s a busy place and there’s line of at least 15-20 minutes.

I grew up here and this location is the best it’s in the heart of the city and here you experience the most of our culture. Grab a bag of beignet, shake and walks the river or sit and eat grab some coffee or milk and enjoy the live jazz music. Either way you will enjoy the history and atmosphere. There are always young servers and they are Usually very friendly as them for some recommendations on other great spots. I was baby sitting and the family was from out of town this spot def kept them entertained and busy for a while. Look at those smiling faces.

This place is very much overestimated. They are so packed and the lines can get very long. Hence, I understand the diminishing quality. Yet, the coffee was terrible. I asked for an Iced Latte and it was a bit warm and tasteless. The beignets were average – you can definitely find better.

Overall, good historical place to go for the experience and vibe, but not recommended for the food and coffee. Honestly, I make better coffee at home with their same coffee beans. Just buy those

Truly an experience! Waited a full hour in the takeout line, while bopping to live jazz played on the street. The beignets, when eaten hot, are entirely heavenly.
Some guides say you can barge in and sit down ahead of all the people in line. Nope, not since Covid!
Not clearly any restrooms available. Plan carefully.

Went to New Orleans this past weekend to celebrate a relatives Birthday. On my first morning there I had to check out this place that was highly recommended by a coworker. The food and Hot Chocolate did not disappoint. The Beignets reminded me of funnel cakes here in Saint Louis. Just in a different shape. The only drawback is that they only accept Cash only. So if you go, you better have some dollar bills on ya because they do not take Debit/Credit Cards. Overall enjoyed the experience so much I ended up buying 5 boxes of the Beignet mix and 2 canisters of their coffee back as well.

Empressive Curls

Rode the trolley to visit the legendary Cage Du Monde yesterday. Can’t go to New Orleans without getting Beignets. The lines were crazy but they move fast. A wonderful treat to enjoy with friends. Powdered sugar everywhere. Bathrooms close at 6 so make sure you go before. Saw many beautiful horse drawn carriages while in line. Street musician made the wait more lovely.

Customer service was pleasant & swift. We did not have to wait for a seat. It was odd that we noticed the restrooms were in the walkthrough area, being the kitchen. So you had to walk through the kitchen where they are cooking the food to get to the restroom. Our Beignets took about 15 minutes to come out they were very warm and large with lots of powdered sugar. They were very good. I had hot cocoa with mine my significant other had water. You do not need to come to the establishment with any form of a credit card or debit card because they only accept cash.

STRYKEN the Band

What a great experience on Sunday morning with the Jazz Band playing on the street. To avoid the super long lines, we recommend arriving before 9am. The later you wait the longer the lines get. Turns out it is BEST for us to share a bag of 3 as two bags was too much.

This place was amazing the line was very long , but the coffee and beignets were worth the wait.
Also this review was based on the trip I made there 3 years ago.
It was delicious the powered sugar and yummy texture it gave.
The coffee have a rich flavor to bring as well.
The 1862 meaning it has been there for approximately 160 years right now so if you want to see some important history of New Orleans.
Highly recommend
