Vaccaro’s Italian Pastry Shop, Little Italy Reviews

This is a fun place to experience. The service could have been a little quicker. All the deserts we tried were great. If you order the Italian Lemon Ice tea make sure you order it with unsweetened tea. My first one came with sweet tea and it was almost in bearably sweet. I had them refill with unsweetened tea and it was perfect.

Great place to pick up pastries to go! There’s an area to sit down and eat but we were just there to pick up some sweets. Everyone that worked there was super nice. It was a little tight in the front and there wasn’t much space to stand if there were too many people. Overall, it was a cute place and the pastries were very tasty!

Had a very nice snack at Vaccaro’s. We sat at a table and ordered with a waitress. The sfogliatella (aka lobster tail) was excellent and nicely sized. We also got the veggie mufaleta sandwich on focaccia which was yummy – the olive flavor did not overpower the sandwich which was nice. The tortellini on the side was also flavorful. The affogato (espresso w ice cream) was great and large portion. Pricing was reasonable.

Coming from Brooklyn, NY, where we have amazing cannoli, I would say that the cannoli here could have been a bit better. We ordered the assorted small cannolis. They weren’t bad but I felt like the cream could have been improved a bit (the consistency was a little too close to frosting for me). Still very tasty and I appreciated that they overstuffed with cream!

Great establishment!

Always amazing coffees and desserts for dates and family outings. If you’re visiting Baltimore or live there (or nearby) Vaccaro’s pastry shop is a must must must visit.

The local charm of Little Italy and the walking-distance location of the harbor, make this dessert shop the place to visit.

My kids loved the coffee the the gelato.

This was one of the most terrible cappuccinos I had in my life. Terrible service and we were forced to pay 8 dollars for a cappuccino that was undrinkable and I didn’t even have more than a tiny sip. The blond girl has no idea how to make a cappuccino and she was extremely rude. She brought a boiling drink with no foam with dripping down wiped cream and said that I have to pay for this because she made it correctly. I hope the management will read my comment and train the staff how to work.
I would give a NEGATIVE STAR review if there was an option.

Affordable ice cream and a substantial size. A decent amount of flavours to choose from. My favourite was the “Chocolate Ice” and I’ll definitely be coming back for that flavour. The hazelnut wasn’t bad either but the strawberry was a bit disappointing and didn’t taste the way I thought it would. Tasted more like average quality strawberry ice cream from a grocery store. They were doing some sort of sale so my medium sized ice cream (3 scoops) was only $4.2! Quite a steal considering the prices of other places.

Nutella Cheesecake, Strawberry Cheesecake, and Mint Chocolate Chip Gelato. All were amazingly delightful. If you’re a chocolate lover, I’d highly recommend the Nutella Cheesecake. They serve it with chocolate gelato. The portions are abundant as you can see. So, you get bang for you buck. If you’re sensitive to dairy, this is the place for you. Plenty of dessert options to to satisfy your sugar cravings.

It’s rare that we leave a negative review but we hope to help others not to get terrible service, and help the owners with their staff and product.

We ordered two cappuccinos and two pastries. First of all, the prices are different for the sit down menu, which is strange, but I guess the owners are trying to offset the costs. Second of all, when the cappuccinos arrived, they were boiling hot and clearly not made correctly – when the milk is boiled instead of steamed, it becomes sour, and it won’t froth without correct technique – not a very difficult technique to master. The ratio of milk to coffee was wrong as well – it was about 10oz of milk to a shot of espresso. It seems odd that the folks in coffee business would not know a typical proportion of beverages.

What really struck us the most is that the waitress was rude and refused to address the problem, and aggressively told us “oh you’re paying for this because I made it how it should be!”.

In no way this is the way to run a business, and I hope the owners will get better trained staff. On a side note, the pastries were fine.

The best!!

I love Vaccoros. Plenty of Italian ice, cookie and pastry options.

You have to try the cannoli. It’s delicious. As are pretty much all of their desert. I’m a fan of the Baci gelato.

It’s a hometown staple for an Italian sweet treats if your in the downtown area. There are multiple locations but i think this is the only one that i frequent.
