Got a breakfast burrito, hash browns, a coffee and a mini fruit tart. The breakfast was pleasantly surprising, it was huge for the price, the hash browns were very good. I was charged extra for hash browns, that I thought the website menu said were included, but over all still a great experience. Staff was very friendly, food was great, and everything looked and smelled amazing. Didn’t even intend to buy a fruit tart, but they were so cute and looked so good I couldn’t help it!

They used to be a lot better for king cakes. Which is really disappointing. Now, they are even outperformed by grocery stores (e.g., Rouses). They no longer have a full selection of king cakes ready to buy. You have to preorder them now, and then they can vary in size. Mine was half the size of why they used to be and barely covers half the tray (pic included).
It should also be noted, in their benefit, that the staff are generally friendly.

When you go in, it smells delicious! The staff was wonderful and attentive. There delicious pastries that I’ve tried are so good, it makes my mouth water even now. Ordered a birthday cake and the person I spoke to, who took my specific order was super polite and made my order clear and on point.

Best Birthday Cake Ever!!!!!
I have ordered from Ambrosia Bakery for over 15 years, and I have never been disappointed!!!! So when I decided to go over the top for my daughter’s 7th birthday after not having a birthday party the previous year due to COVID, I immediately reached out to Ambrosia.
My daughter had just started horse riding lessons after two years of begging when she was too young to start….So I was determined to make it special. I planned a horse riding party at the Purple Reins Farm located in Stl Gabriel. It was everything you could dream of as a little girl who wants a horse!!!
Then we had a hurricane headed straight for us…Ida!!! I was so worried that the party would not happen, but by the grace of God and the hard work of the staff at Purple Rein Farms, the party was still a GO!!
So, I reached out to Ambrosia to make sure the cake was still able to be prepared for the party, and I was told that all was well and the cake would be ready due to them not losing power. Well little did they know, Entergy continued to turn the power to Ambrosial on and off during the time my cake was to be prepared. This posed a huge problem for the artist that provide the amazing creations….
I was called the evening prior to my daughters party to be informed they would not have my birthday cake ready due to the power issues with the storm…as anyone can imagine I was devastated and didn’t know what to do… Then she let me know they would be able to have something for me just not what I had planned. At that point, I was just excited that there would be anything for the guests, and moreover, a place to put candles for her to blow out….
Because of the great and talented people who work at Ambrosia, they went above and beyond working extra hours without power at many of their own homes to deliver the best cake I could ever have imagined!!!! The baker/artist decided to surprise me and make the actual cake I ordered (sculptured cake taking hours to bake and design)!!!!
Please consider using them for all of your baking and catering needs for any event, but especially for the events you want to be special with a little something extra….Lagniappe!!!!

OMG! I cannot brag about this place enough. The wedding cake and groom’s cake that I had them make were PERFECT!!! Their prices are incredibly reasonable and the flavor is spot on. I definitely recommend this place for your event cakes! The hummingbird filling is to die for.

We live in Goodwood, two blocks from Whole Foods, 4 blocks from Gambino’s Bakery, and 4 blocks from Balm’s Bakery. While Ambrosia is on the other side of town for us. My wife said she wanted a cake for her birthday but she said, “You know Whole Foods cakes just aren’t as good as they used to be.” The choice for me was easy, Ambrosia simply makes the best cakes in town. My wife LOVED her cake (Praline). One by one, she got on the phone and invited almost the whole neighborhood over for a slice. The people at Ambrosia could not be nicer. They always come through. They could be half way to New Orleans and I would still make the pilgrimage.

OH MY! Recently moved to Baton Rouge and stumbled across this little gem in my quest for doberge cake. This place rocks…. variety… quality…
friendly service…and OMG… the cannoli is to die for. I have made this my go to place for all dessert needs. I am so happy to have found Ambrosia Bakery…. they are the best. I must warn you…. one visit and you’ll be hooked! I am thrilled….my hips on the other hand…. not so thrilled…LOL!
Ahhhh… but what a way to go. Please try this place….you won’t ever go anywhere else.

The customer service was great and the detail was amazing. It was a beautiful cake. Everyone who saw it was blown away by how absolutely adorable and detail oriented it was. Ambrosia made our wedding cake and groom’s cake 25 years ago. They did excellent work then and they continue with their amazingly detailed and high standards to this day. Beyond impressed.
