Ok let me honest here this is the best donut shop in salinas… the owner is amazing you can tell he cares about his business. Great deals. Good atmosphere. My stepfather has been coming here for decades and yes this place deserves all the recognition its getting.
P.S. Blueberry cake donuts….. thats all I’m gonna say.

First, I live in Michigan — and we take our donuts seriously in the Midwest. Sundays here are for church, football and donuts. You can stop being invited places if you bring lousy donuts. I got two dozen donuts for work, and let me tell you, this place is the real deal. It’s a little hole in the wall, and three old guys in Navy Veteran caps were talking in the corner over coffee. This is definitely The Spot. You know, the spot where the old guys sit every day and complain about their grandkids and drink coffee. Anyway, these donuts are Midwest-quality, moist, fluffy deliciousness, and they get this fat Michigander’s stamp of approval.

I want to love Sunshine. While I like the service and people the donuts are a little too dense/cakey for me. Not bad and I’ll probably still go back if I’m nearby. Not making a trip just for it though.

Went here on my off days some times on. That all came to an end when i spotted a cockroach on a shelf of donuts. I let the older gentlemen, probably the owner, know about it and he insisted i was wrong. It upset me, but not too much as i had seen enough and wasnt going to come back after what i had seen. I wouldnt trust this place.

After many attempts to find good donuts and friendly service in Salinas, my bf and I finally found Sunshine’s Donuts!!! The gentleman that helped us (maybe the owner?) was very friendly and the donuts were so yummy! He didn’t have any custard filled donuts available so he offered to fill the donuts with custard for us on the spot!!! The donuts tasted fresh and the coffee was good too. Plus they have other items on their menu besides donuts. We will definitely be back and we will also refer other people!!!

This place is amazing. I would highly recommend it for either some donuts in the morning or a shake in the noon. Has outdoor seating.

Such a sweet couple, great frappes..and any sweettooth will be delighted. They also have a breakfast and lunch menu. The ole timers hangout starting early…like 6 am

The owner/ employees have the best customer service. They have a broad menu. From donuts to churros.. even lumpia and other savory things. A wide selection of cold/iced coffees and drinks. You can also place in a big order of donuts in advance. Everything is at a great price and everything tastes so good! Highly recommend it here.
