Scram Bakery Reviews

I’ve been visiting Scram for a couple years now and I love absolutely everything about it. The staff are so kind, and everything they offer is always perfectly made. I literally fly to EWR when I’m traveling to NYC so I can stop by Scram. This place alone is worth a trip to Jersey City!
My favorite pastries are the crullers, tarts, and the rum & raisin scone (I regret I don’t have photos of these). And do order their holiday specials – pies, dinner rolls, coffee cake, etc.
Egg buns are outstanding as many other reviewers have mentioned. They redefine what a breakfast sandwich should be. As satisfying as they look, they taste even better if that’s possible, with a perfect bun-to-filling ratio, plenty of egg, meat if you please, and other yummy garnishes. The bread stays plush and buoyant. You’re in for a treat!

Their pastry and egg sandwiches were amazing! Personally I enjoyed the sausage sandwich the most while my husband loves the ham sandwich.
Tried a few pastries like egg tarts and fig coffee cake. Nothing to complain about other than they sold out fast(come before 11am to get a better selection). Coffee was good too.
Staff was friendly and efficient. Love this little gem!

We randomly walked by Scram after our brunch date with friends in the neighborhood and we’re impressed what an adorable bakery it is.
There is no indoor dining available but a few standing tables outside on the street. The staff told us they planned to reopen soon and post information on their social media.
We got 3 pastries, Cruller, Scone & Donut, and a bag of granola. The food was good, especially the donut, the texture was puffy & soft and the filling was creamy. However, we won’t recommend their granola, which was bland to us.

Went today and had sausage eggs, apple butter donut and iced latte.
Liked sausage eggs a lot, not over seasoned and everything just about right to me!!!
Apple butter donut had real apple made jelly inside, not over-sweet, which was great!!!
Will definitely return and try new items!

Weekends aren’t complete without a trip to Scram. People rave about their breakfast sandwiches but I’m all about their pastries. Favourites include: rum raisin scone, banana walnut scone, burnt honey cake (pictured), cinnamon roll, anything they do with rhubarb, cheddar apple biscuit.. I’m sure I’m missing a few but I love that they change the menu up often based on what’s in season, which keeps us coming back for more. Glad to see they hired more workers, which has sped up the wait time. Keep it up Scram.
Edit: added photo of $40 thanksgiving apple crisp pie. Expensive but it was quite delicious. There were some hiccups with the pick up that day (we didn’t get a text until 5 mins before the pick up window closed and had no idea what time to pick up) but we ended up getting our pie in time thankfully.

Pastries are delicious here and so are their egg sandwiches. Egg sandwiches have the perfect ratio of bun to filling – sounds easy to get right, but a lot of places in the area don’t. Coffee is pretty standard, I wouldn’t say that it’s my favorite in the area, but the food more than makes up for it. It does typically get packed here so be prepared to wait. Highly recommend you check it out if you’re in the area.

I’ve been to Scram too many times to count, and I’ve never been disappointed. The baked items are amazing, especially the crullers and cinnamon buns. The sausage egg bun is my favorite thing there – it has the perfect balance of jalapeño, and the eggs are always great.

The best egg sandwich I’ve ever had. Pimento is a must try. Seriously recalibrated my barometer for breakfast sandwiches. This isn’t a bagel shop. This is a culinary experience. Gourmet. Wouldn’t be surprised if this place earned a Michelin Star or two! Small focused menu of savory breakfast sandwiches. Fantastic takes on traditional bakery items, donuts, fritters, cinnamon roll, etc. Limited hours really makes going here an early morning treat and something to look forward to on the weekends. Thanks.

Great and consistent, sometimes busy and a bit expensive. Any of the milk bun breakfast sammies are good, pastries are also generally tasty, pineapple buttermilk fritter is of note – also the quiche are quite good. Good coffee too.
