MoDo Hawaii Reviews

Was so stoked to try these donuts! Haven’t ever had an opportunity to snag this type of donut in Texas, and the flavor profiles they offer aren’t the norm down here either. We went for a half dozen with a variety of flavors. The Black Sesame was insanely good! But we found the coconut and passion fruit to be our favorites!

MoDo’s mochi donuts are phenomenal if you like mochi! The texture of fluffy yet sticky on the inside, and the flavored dip on the outside is very on point! My favorites are by far the matcha and black sesame ones. Best part is that these donuts are always warm and fresh every time I get them!

They also often have special flavors like strawberry matcha or pandan – highly recommend trying!

Pretty quick service, and there is seating right outside as well.

First time having these. I had the cookies and cream + many of flavors. Nice staff. Prices a little high for ingredients served. Reminds me of homemade donuts. Very nice and clean area. Seating outside.

I love their mochi donuts, especially the matcha and taro ones. They’re not too sweet. So delicious when it’s fresh! It’s warm and crispy!! So good!

Came here to take advantage of their current deal – buy a drink and get a mochi donut for free! I saw they had the ube soy latte and just had to try it!
For $5.50, it’s a pretty good deal. I didn’t quite taste the ube in my soy latte but it does have a delicious sweet taste. I also wasn’t sure if I’m supposed to get any coffee in the latte… but I didn’t taste any. It was a satisfying cold sweet drink anyway! For my free donut, I got a green tea matcha flavor one. It was freshly fried so it was very crispy. I also took half a dozen to go for later, and actually also like the room-temperature donut! It’s less crispy but has a better chewy texture that I like for these things.
Came on a Sunday after lunch, only a couple of customers before me in line. Definitely better than when they were a pop-up and hour-long lines. This is a nice treat and will definitely come back for more!

I ordered Uber eats and my colleagues kept asking me where I bought these donuts! This place never disappoints me! Highly recommended! Love black sesame and Lili koi the most! I mean others are pretty good too!

A nice twist on traditional donuts, they have unique flavors as well. I found them to be a bit too sweet for my preference, however quite good. For $2 per donut, the size was a little too small. They are freshly made and better when still warm. I wouldn’t go back regularly but will definitely indulge in some when I have a sugar craving.

Love mochi donut. It’s fresh and warm. My favorite is black sesame. Passion fruit is good too. Will go back to try ube.

Not bad…especially the chocolate and cookies and cream! I DO NOT recommend the yellow (Leiliki) flavor at all. Pretty pricy too – $15/half dozen. Fun when you’re craving a sweet treat.

As a long-time fan of MoDo donuts ever since they set up a pop-up shop in Mitsuwa, I was extremely excited to learn that they now had a brick and motar store. MoDo is here to stay!

If you’re curious about their flavor options, you can easily check what’s their everyday flavors as well as their rotating flavors via their website. When you go to their website be sure to select the correct store location so you can get the most up-to-date flavor information. They usually have about 5 or 6 every day flavors with 2 or 3 rotating ones for each day.

My personal favorites include cookies & cream, earl grey, strawberry, and mango (the later two may be seasonal). I have found some of their more tropical flavors like lilikoi (passionfruit) and pineapple to be a bit too sour for my tastes, so if you don’t like sour flavors that might be something to keep in mind.

You can order both in-person and online (for in-person pick-up). Usually I opt to order online since it’s so easy, but I’ve also ordered in-person before and there’s something to be said about a hot, fresh mochi donut. Be aware as with all popular food places, you’ll likely encounter a line, but the workers there are pretty efficiently so you shouldn’t find yourself waiting too long.

Needless to say, once a fan, always a fan. If you’re looking for mochi donuts, then look no further MoDo Hawaii is THE place to go!
