So sad to see this bakery in such decline. Used to be one of my favorite places to go with my parents. Always friendly, energetic, smiling even though there were 30 people crammed into such a small place. Now, you have to explain to the staff what salami is and they have an attitude about it. Ordered salami and mozzarella and they balled up the sliced cheese in the package. 13 minutes for 1/2 lb of salami and 1/2 lb of mozzarella. Carful also, they auto select 10% tip if you pay with card.

I read the recent reviews and was hoping for the best. I went in with an open mind and was pleasantly greeted by a teenage boy behind the counter. It was pretty early and the cases were full of many tasty delights…my only disappointment was the limited selection of cakes and cheesecakes left for the weekend, but it’s Mother’s Day weekend and I probably should have just ordered a cake. The shop quickly filled with customers but another associate quickly came up front to help fill orders. Again I was met with a smile and pleasant small talk from the young woman. Maybe previous reviewers went in when “someone” was having a bad day?! I didn’t experience any negatives other than the limited selection of cakes…the prices seem pretty consistent with other local bakeries…the quality and taste were worth it!

Last few times I got rolls from them they were not fresh, you could tell that they were a day or two old, and hard. I was there on a Sunday of all days and got sausage rolls, they were dry. Used to be a great bakery when the old owners had it.

Wow, paid $75 for a tray of STALE Italian cookies. I emailed the next day after my event and they didn’t even bother to reply. Bad quality/service. They just lost a 25+ year customer. Not quite up to the old service & quality levels since new ownership.

I am a small new business but I feel like a giant with the service I get each and every time I place an order with the fabulous employees and owners! The baguettes I use exclusively for my catering along with their deli meats both are delicious!

Young guy barely acknowledged me walking behind counter spinning his cap around his index finger. Very unsanitary and disappointing. I usually go to the small store on e.Layton ave for ham and thought I’d give them a try. WON’T BE BACK!

I drove 1-1/2 hours to Milwaukee to get ham and rolls from my favorite bakery. I was on my way when my daughter also asked I pick her up ham and rolls. So when I got there I waited over 30min I then asked for 8lbs so I could share with another family member, my order and my daughters. Was not planned for that much when going but happy to share this ham with family. The girl waiting on me was rude from the start and at the end of the $112.00 order when I was checking out she very rudely said call ahead next time! She was very unprofessional I then asked for her name and she ignored me and walked away and then asked her other worker and he gave me a fake name. I then called when I left and he claimed he was the manager and the so called manager told me that there are other people wanting ham and rolls and in general I was rude to take that much. I did not get anything but 12 rolls free so everything I got I paid full price for. I was so disappointed with how I was treated. I will travel again to Milwaukee for amazing ham and rolls just never to this long time family favorite. It’s a shame that people can take a business down. And word of mouth is everything to a small business.
