After running 15 miles I knew I needed something delicious and fast! I took the risk and drove down to Johnny’s donuts. The sign and building were a bit run down so I almost missed the parking lot.
It was lunch time but I also wanted their donuts. They made me this bacon cheeseburger with donuts as buns, fried mushrooms and a dr.pepper. after slipping my CASH under the glass window I went outside to wait. I barely waited 5 minutes before she knocked on the window.
After retrieving my HOT food from the drawer I sat outside on the sidewalk (no dine-in) and devoured this burger. The light, sweetness of the donuts paired perfectly with the juiciest burger I’d had in a long time. The mushrooms were perfectly fried and just the right size to pop in my mouth. Each bite was a bit of heaven.
Yes, the risk of Prospect Ave with a purse full of cash was worth it. I’d gladly take a friend and sit on that sidewalk again just to eat this donut burger again.

Awesome as usual!! Johnny’s is the best donuts around!! Super fresh and dripping with sweetness!! Don’t forget this guy makes the best hamburger’s on the grill too!! Go ahead fall off your diet Johnny won’t tell! Lol

Really solid donuts here… Er, actually they are quite light and fluffy, but they are really good. Have been looking for an old-school donut place to replace John’s Spaceage and I think this may be the place.

I was impressed by this place. The donuts are delicious. At first I thought the place was closed but then it wasn’t so male sure you get off and check. Also, it is Cash Only.

A hidden gem in plain sight. Went there for the donuts but loved the burgers! My wife did bring home a cinnamon roll that was exceptional. I am certain that we will return to try the steak sandwich and more donuts. I was surprised to learn that Johnny has been operating out of this location for over 35 years and I had never been here! What a world!
