Goose Feathers An Express Cafe & Bakery Reviews

Philecia Shanks

Dropped in to grab breakfast on our way out of town this morning. Goose Feathers was recommended to us so we decided to give it a try. The line wasn’t too long for a Sunday morning breakfast at 10:00.
We ordered the Birds Nest with a side of grits and sausage and a Belgian Waffle with a side of bacon. The menu doesn’t specify that the Birds Nest has grits on the bottom that’s why we ordered the side. It was filling unfortunately it didn’t have a lot of flavor. The dollop of salsa on top had the most flavor of the entire dish. The grits looked fantastic but upon tasting them they were not hot. Warm would be a massive stretch.
The waffle was ok. It didn’t have much flavor. It would be perfect for kids. The side of bacon was the biggest disappointment of the meal. It must have been cooked in an air fryer because it was so hard and dehydrated I nearly broke a tooth. Great flavor just inedible. The black coffee was surprisingly good and hot. My husband ordered a caramel latte but it tasted like they forgot the caramel.
The last thing worth mentioning is the vibe, the atmosphere of the place. If you are looking to have a conversation over a cup of coffee or a last meal with locals before leaving town this is NOT the place for that. They really start pushing you out as soon as your last bite is finished. I had no sooner put my fork down that the plates were being taken.
Goose Feathers is family owned and operated since the ‘80’s. Maybe we ordered the wrong meals or maybe it was an off day because the line was out the door and down the sidewalk.

Atmosphere: 5/5- welcoming, homey vibe
Service: 5/5 – you pay at the counter and sit yourself. Food was brought out within 10 mins. Servers cleaning up the place were fast and friendly.
Food: 5/5 – we had the bacon, egg and cheese croissant, egg Benedict croissant, bread pudding and the latte. Everything was delicious! Left a great after taste.

Overall: you know a place is good, when there is a never-ending line. Come check this place out for breakfast if you’re in Savannah, GA.

We spent MLK Jr. weekend in Savannah, GA and stumbled upon this absolutely incredible cafe. The food was amazing and the service was excellent. The prices were also great. There was a long line when we first got there but it moved so fast that we didn’t wait long. We sat outside and enjoyed the great weather and amazing food. Definitely check it out if you’re in town!

Savannah has so many great places for breakfast/brunch. This is one of them. We had bird’s nest( never thought I’d eat grits with salsa) which was very simple yet gave a homely feeling. We also had coconut cream pie , and veggie burrito ( the tortilla was very thick though). For drinks we had frozen mocha and tiramisu iced latte. That was something different.

Delightful little breakfast joint with a full morning and coffee menu. Bagel was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside—tasted very fresh! New potatoes were seasoned to perfection and served with sour cream and green onion tops. Counter service delivered with a friendly smile. The place seems to fill up around 10, so get there early. Highly recommended.

Atmosphere was cute and service was very friendly but honestly the food was…. Fine… I hate leaving reviews like this but I got an egg Sammy and I probably could’ve made a better one at home… it’s good for a quick coffee and bite to eat. But not my fave

Great cornbread waffles, light airy full of flavor. Gravy perfect! Frozen cappuccino a little weak and the lemon blueberry cake was dry. I would go back to try other pastries and get some more waffles

My husband and I went here for breakfast this morning. It is cute, cozy, and charming! Both of our meals were delicious. The owner was behind the counter taking orders, refilling drinks, and hustling the whole time! Definitely one of our best dining experiences in Savannah.

We headed to Good Feathers for breakfast and upon arrival, there was already a long queue in waiting! It took us 35 mins just to place the order. The food came in quick. We ordered their veggie panini, mexican burrito and raspberry croissant. It was served hot and fresh and all the items were delicious. The only big downside was that they initially mixed up the veggie panini with bacon (we dont eat bacon AT ALL) and it took another 35-40 mins to serve us the right one. The management was friendly but their service was slow thats why I gave 4 stars and for waiting so long in line.

Overall I would recommend this place. Just prepare yourselves for the long waiting line but the food is worth the wait!

This was so good. I only tried one thing on the menu – the JP Deluxe – and I thought it was absolutely excellent. I’d go out of my way to stop in and get that again next time I’m in town.

Nice vibe to the place, comfortable, friendly staff working there, and my food came out quickly!
