A very unique hands on experience. Lots of selection of pastries to choose from. Grab a tray and a tongue and you’re able to pull from the selection what you like to purchase. From sweet tooth Cravings to savory, They have a wide selection to hit the niche.

Convenient location for me to buy Japanese bread and pastries without going to down town. Love Japanese baked goods and their products are just like I like except high prices (can’t help it we are in Hawaii, right?).
Now(March 2020) they carry cherry blossom related items and they are fabulous. I saw cherry blossom doughnut on their poster but couldn’t see it. Maybe next time?

Love this place! Don’t forget your reusable bag. Only two people are allowed at a time in the shop. Use the gloves or the sanitizer before grabbing your tray, waxed paper, and tongs. All of the bakery items are individually bagged, and the reach-in displays have acrylic doors that stay open; so handy! There’s a clear divider at the register, too. All of the goodies are super tasty, so be sure to load up on everything. Our faves are the pain chocolat, curry bun, and koshi anpan.

This is my second time buying pastries from Brug, and I really wanted to like them. While their selection looks novel and enticing , both times I tried pastries from here I have found them to be too oily to the point of giving me a stomach ache. Maybe I am overly sensitive, but I have not found this with pastries elsewhere. I will be avoiding them in the future.

I have been coming to this bakery, since the pandemic. I live in Waipahu, but I have my favorites at this bakery, the chocolate swirl mini loaf, the okinawan potato mochi and pain au chocolate croissant. They are absolutely delicious and not that sweet.
