Just GO. Wholesome and excellent from product to employees to environment. Very high quality tasty goodness. Even if you’re avoiding yummy indulgence, it’s worth just buying one and staring at it – you’ll come around. Still true to donut nature, but has evolved to an apex donut in the most efficient form – table to mouth. Fan art!⁰

I have tried 9-10 droughts from here and I tend to enjoy their old-fashioned doughnuts more than others so far. It is tender, moist and dense, but it is not heavy. Even next day, I enjoyed the texture and flavor 🙂

I have tried 3 different filling doughnuts, and I wish they filled with more cream / jelly… If I buy a filling doughnut, I would like to taste/eat cream more than dough.

Crème brûlée is worth trying, but you have to be there at the perfect timing when they touch the sugar.

Good, but not as good as voodoo. We came to Portland for the weekend and read tons of articles saying blue star donuts was the place to go. We ended up going to both blue star and voodoo and voodoo was much better. They also seem to run out of options really fast (we came in the afternoon). Voodoo had the entire menu available at the same time. The donuts were also much smaller.

The donut was super soft, fresh and delicious. Thanks to the staff for helping me selecting the best donut. I bought the donut on my way to the Oregon coast. I enjoyed the delicious donut with the ocean view.

My favorite place to take friends and family from out of town. I like to treat myself to their donuts every now and then too.

The donuts are pricey when compared to Krispy Kreme. But that is because they pack way more flavor. I don’t think you should eat donuts often so when you do it might as well be the best.

The bourbon blueberry basil is my favorite. It has a great fresh and fruity glaze on top. The dough feels dense and sweet. It isn’t just carby fluff.

Hands down the best donuts in town! Brought family members here and they absolutely loved everything! Cute sitting area outside and the staff were awesome! You can’t go wrong with anything you choose.

These are tasty, but the texture just wasn’t doing it for me. I like my old-fashioned donuts to be crispy flaky sweet on the outside and just cakey, moist, and tearable on the inside.

There were lots of flavors offered at Blue Star and the workers were super friendly and helpful. However, the texture is hard for me to get over. The line was also quite substantial, which is fine because they were pretty tasty and in a good location – just something to note.

Unique donuts with fluffy crumb (more open crumb compared to old fashioned cake donuts) and unique flavors. Each donut is a nice portion (don’t feel heavy or guilty) & balanced sweetness. Friendly staff. Outdoor benches in lush Mississippi Ave.
passion fruit & vanilla cake, tart & balanced sweet

Really good donuts! Bold flavours, not overly sweet
Looking forward to visiting again when in Portland

Dropped by just before closing with a craving for an old fashioned donut but they were all out. Amazing staff Annie and Olin chatted with me to try the orange olive oil vegan donut. It’s usually hard to replicate donuts to be vegan but this one was a hit on all the levels. A must try in my opinion. Thanks you two for a great visit!
