An iconic place in Shreveport for donuts. You can’t go wrong with Southern Maid. They have expanded since their days on Hearne Ave. and now have locations throughout the city. Make sure to stop by when the red light is on to indicate “hot” donuts.

The best donut one can get…… I highly suggest only going early in the morning or late at night as that is when the cook them up fresh… Nothing like a hot double glazed donut that just melts in your mouth. No chewing required… IMO Mansfield Rd location does it the best.

Really awesome donuts and employees! I have an egg allergy and they were super cool about it. I learned they don’t use egg and I’m so happy I can still enjoy my favorite donuts. I live in Pittsburgh now and I still can’t find donuts this good anywhere but right here in my hometown of Shreveport! Keep doing it right and see y’all soon!

Unfortunately the price for a dozen donuts increased almost 50%. It’s now $10 for a dozen donuts. The donuts also have a different taste here recently. I am not sure if that is because of a different cook or different manager. But both of my kids didn’t even want to finish their donuts because of the taste. They also need to look at glazing all of their donuts and then adding chocolate on top of the glaze.

Best donuts. Time for this place to open dining back up. Restrictions have been lifted. Quit being scared of the corona. Your donuts are good but no one wants to sit in your long drive thru when gas is $4 a gallon.

After driving all the way from kings highway because the one in the area was closed until 3, I came to the one on Mansfield Rd. Upon ordering I was told they only had spicy kolaches; nor lemon filled donuts. So the cashier saw the disappointment. She then said, I’ll make you a lemon filled. Customer service at it’s best. Thanks Southern Maid.

We came from out of town to visit family. We stopped there as it was closest donut shop near the area we were at. The drive thru was so long and the girl cashier wasn’t very professional didn’t greet herself. Overall not that great. The donuts and kolaches were outrageously expensive for something that was borderline mediocre. I’ve had better donuts for the same price. They didn’t offer to warm up the kolaches. Overall it could be better.

The donuts are very good but the kolaches now have an odd doughy texture and were not offered to be heated the last tike I bought them.
I’ve also been waiting as the second car waiting for the window for the last 15 minutes and have yet to see anyone

Excellent doughnuts. My nephews wife said better than krispycreme!!!!! Melts in your mouth. Get in car line for drive up. Fast service!!!

I tried for three consecutive days to get hot glazed at this location. My vacation is ending but I notice a line in the drive through and thought they just might have some. And they DID! So glad I was able to experience the smell and taste I remembered from my childhood. Hot and delicious! The best donuts ever!
