Soga Mochi Donut Reviews

Seriously good donuts! I’m not a huge mochi fan, but this combo couldn’t be any better. Put in an online order right when they opened, did my shopping, and picked them up easily. It’s not as busy in the morning, but I’m sure they get crazy in the afternoons and weekends. My dozen was hot and made to order. They are melt in your mouth good.

Very aesthetic! The shop has different flavors every week. The wait time was about 15-20 min. The mochi tasted great. Some places have oily mochi donut but not this one. The breading is more of on the donut side than mochi. But this is definitely a must try!

Delicious! The best donuts I’ve had here in Minnesota. They make them fresh upon order. Not too sweet – light and almost melt in your mouth. Would highly recommend trying.

Um, these donuts are DELICIOUS! Mochi Donuts are so chewy, airy and light. I love that my stomach doesn’t feel super heavy after eating them like it does when I eat normal donuts.

Unfortunately, that means that my partner and I can devour an entire box of these things! And yes, we did!

I like that this little donut place is located inside of an Asian Market. I really enjoy looking around the store, getting some shopping done and then grabbing a box of Mochi Donuts to take with me.

The flavors we tried were:
Lemon
Strawberry
Cookies & Cream
Matcha
Churro
Plain

My partner and I loved the Lemon, Strawberry and Churro ones the best… but they were all great!

I highly recommend this place, especially if you haven’t tried Mochi Donuts yet! They are more expensive than typical donuts, but the experience is worth it 🙂

Mochi donuts have taken the Twin Cities by a storm and I’ve been so excited to finally try them! Hearing my friends in other states rave about these Japanese style donuts made me even more enthusiastic to check them out.

This mochi donut shop is located inside an Asian grocery store. My husband was the one to go pick them up. Ordering online was super easy. The nice thing is that you can select a pick up time for the donuts to be ready by. He ran a few errands and then headed over to Soga and the donuts were ready by the time he got to them.

We tried several flavors – Oreo, matcha, tiramisu, and Churro. My absolute favorites have to be the ones dipped in white chocolate – the Oreo and the Matcha. The Oreo tasted just like an Oreo cookie. The matcha didn’t taste super bitter like typical matcha. It is was sweetened heavily but still delicious.

I loved how unique these donuts were. From the soft, pillowy insides to the crispy outsides and even the fun shape. I’m definitely going to try more of their flavors.

Back in 2019 I visited Japan and while I was there I was OBSESSED with Mister Donut. The donuts were just different and since coming back I have been wanting something similar so when I found out this place opened just 5 minutes away from me inside my go to Asian grocery store I was super excited to try them and see if they were similar and I was not disappointed! The donuts have that perfect crispiness outside with a super soft, light, airy inside. When I got mine they were fresh and warm which just added to how amazing they were. So happy I can make donut trips on my normal grocery runs now!

I love their soft mochi donuts. Their topping creams are kind of over sweet sometimes but don’t mind once in a while. I recommend giving them a try.

I love how they make their donuts fresh! These donuts are super good. I wasn’t too fond of the strawberry one. The powder had a slight sour strawberry after taste. The matcha was delicious though.

We need more mochi in Minnesota! I adore this place. I heard about it through a yelp event and fell in love. The biggest downside is that it closes at 5 PM. They change their flavors very frequently and make them fresh to order – I am already a repeat customer!

Finally, a place that specializes in mochi donuts. Came here today on its grand opening and I was not disappointed. Compared to regular donuts, these have a more chewy texture which is what makes these mochi donuts special. My personal favorite is the matcha donut. Also, put the donuts in the oven at 325 degrees for about 5 minutes when you’re about to eat them. They are so much better warm.
