Seed Bakery Reviews

I wish I could give this place six stars!!

Food is amazing. We literally forgot to take some photos of the pastries because they were eaten too quickly!

I see some comments about staff; our experience with the staff was amazing. They were helpful, kind, and patience. They engaged in genuine, heart felt conversations, and were sweet overall.

They had great COVID safety protocol. The amazing baked goods could be seen through the window on the street front. Outside distanced line to a safe order window.

We grabbed a plum pastry, strawberry pastry, almond croissant, pistachio muffin, and a couple others…it was about $35.

There is a parking lot behind the location. It can be a tough to spot the entrance on the street; it is at the north east corner of the building.

Seed Bakery is one of the best bakeries in Los Angeles. It also has excellent sandwiches and salads. Currently, everything is take-out. I cannot speak highly enough of the quality and expertise they show in their baking and in everything that they make. We’ve been coming here for years, and it is very very consistent in quality.

Wanted to give a three star because the pastries are good, but the person who we spoke to in person had the worst attitude. We bought 2 pastries and 2 sandwiches and one baguette. We went home and found a live worm in our pull pork sandwich, we called in to notify them and the lady we spoke to was really nice and refunded us the sandwich amount but asked us to bring back the sandwich. We went out of our way to bring back the sandwich and packaged the worm to show them, but the guy who we spoke to had the audacity to reply haven’t you ever had worms in your food before? This is the problem when you have organic greens, and fresh greens. Trying to excuse themselves saying their ingredients are very fresh. I think this is the problem when you don’t wash your greens properly. I really wanted to like this place because it was highly referred by a friend but the way they handled this was so unacceptable. With this type of respond we will never come back again. I’m just glad my kid didn’t eat the sandwich as I was about to split half. As for the baguette we prefer the Vietnamese restaurants. But that’s our preference.

Food is really good. We got a chocolate almond croissant and the breakfast sandwich. However, the attitude of the staff was really stiff and off-putting.

Also: It’s 2022. If you don’t want to offer a vegetarian substitution for bacon, then you should offer the sandwich without with an optional add-on. It’s frustrating to feel like you’re still paying for the meat even if you don’t want it. Won’t come back, simply for the inflexibility with dietary restrictions.

In short, making good bread and pastries is awesome but not unique. It’s the customer service and accessibility that really makes a place amazing.

I am writing this review in hopes that they see it. The pictures on Google are very misleading. You cannot go in and enjoy the bakery/Cafe. It is strictly a walk up and order business. There is no where to sit down and enjoy your food or beverage. The encounter was very off putting as I couldn’t hear the person at the counter at all due to a thick plastic barrier and his mask. If they are so afraid of their customers, they should operate as a drive through or a delivery bakery. After saying that, I give the stars for the food itself which was great for what I had. I wish the experience had been better.

The pastries I chose were fine. The service received, not so much. They were busy, and I was trying to decide which pastries to choose. The blond lady helping me seemed impatient and not very helpful. Probably wont be back

Their sourdough bread is so good as well as all their breads they sell. While their breads are amazing, I’m not crazy about their pastries or empanadas. I got their sandwich today and it was decent, although it didn’t feel like the ingredients matched.

Delicious! I had the ham, leek, and egg panini…so simple but so good. Also split a few pastries, which tasted as good as they looked. Also took a country loaf home, which made for excellent bread and butter as well as grilled cheese.

Fresh organic ingredients, responsibly raised meats, fair trade coffee. Great little bakery with delicious breakfast and sandwiches.

Vegetarian quiche is fantastic. 5/5.

Grilled eggplant sandwich was surprisingly good as well. 4/5

Spinach frittata sandwich with bacon 4/5.

I’ve had the sandwich bread and rye so far and both loaves were the best bread I’ve ever had. Delicious and perfectly textured. The pastries I’ve tried have also been tasty! Highly recommend.
