What an experience! Such a neat place and superb donuts. They are a cake like style which gives them the old fashioned taste. Peterson’s is usually on the short list of the best donuts in southern California for a reason. So its worth a visit. They are open 24 hours too!

I’ve been eyeing this place for a while and the other morning I decided I’d grab some donuts. Parking was easy to find. I walked up to the stand and there was a small line, about four people in front of me but the line was moving fast. The people in line were very kind als9, making recommendations too me and just being helpful! They have an outdoor seating area with a menu posted to read while you’re in line. The donuts are listed but the description of the donuts isn’t listed so most people just pick once they got to the window. The donuts are on display behind the glass.
I ordered a half a dozen and I believe I got a maple bar, another type of bar, a powdered cronut, a chocolate sprinkles cronut, a red velvet and an Oreo donut. The bars were delicious, the cronuts were a little messy but airy and worth it. But the red velvet and Oreo I could have done without, they were way more dense that the bars and cronuts and just seemed like the “kid” option. I didn’t end up eating those. The donuts were pretty long and tall also so I measured them.
In the end I paid about $14 for a half a dozen, sounds about right for the size that they are. Beware of an extra charge on card payments, bring cash!

They are hands down the best in San Diego County. I have tried them all, and i won’t say any names. We have good number of donut spots with good donuts. This is BEST of the BEST. They should be open 7 days a week and 24 hrs. OMG. Two THUMBS UP.

Amazing donuts! My son and I made a special trip to try these donuts and it was well worth the drive. My favorite was the butter log and my son loved the chocolate zebra. He also got a ham and cheese croissant which was delicious!

Best doughnuts EVER. Its nice to find a shop that still serves classic doughnuts. The fires are so great for the quantity of the food. Bring cash! There is an atm. Make it your next stop when you pass by Escondido!

Peterson’s Donut Corner is a definite go to spot for donuts and baked goods in Escondido. The donuts are fresh and tasty always. They have a great variety to offer. My Favorite are the cake donuts plain or maple frosted and the custard-filled donuts. Cake donuts are how I measure a donut shop. Peterson’s are not greasy or overly sweet like other donut shops. The yeast donuts remind me of the ones my mother used to make. Service is friendly and prices are great. And it’s a locally owned spot as well.

Their cake style donuts are incredible! The crullers were the most light and airy I have ever had. I’ll be back, for sure.

This place has been a staple in Escondido since the mid-1980s. Reasonably priced, great selection, always fresh and tasty. Their peanut butter cookies are off the charts! It helps that their staff is awesome. Only downside is you might have to wait in line because they are popular.

Oh my gosh! Ever since I was a little kid my dad always went to this donut shop when he went to San Diego. He went last night and brought home some of my favorite donuts. The quality is amazing and the taste is even better. They’ve been making the same amazing donuts for years. I completely recommend this place!

Peterson donuts shop is pretty popular in Escondido CA. Their donuts looks little bigger than others and taste so delicious. I wish they will sell coffee to go with donuts in the future. Plus, they are open 24hrs.
