If I could give 6 stars I would. Where do I start…The place is as if you went back into time…simple but nostalgic. The staff are so polite. The donuts are heaven. This weekend we tried the pineapple fritter and maple pecan cinnamon roll. The pineapple fritter was a luau in my mouth. The roll was light yet so flavorful. These were so darn good. The price is affordable and these donuts compete well to other local shops. In the last two months we have stopped by a couple of times and we WILL be back, but arrive early because the specialty donuts go quick!

So impressed with Mr. D’s Donut shop! They delivered my daughter’s birthday donuts in a timely manner! They look wonderful and were very kind. We will only be shopping here when it comes to donuts! Thank you for making my daughters birthday! I want to add someone from the store came to deliver the donuts after hours during a snow storm to make this possible!! 🙂

Mr. D’s Donuts is in the top 2 donut places in KC. The donuts are always fresh and very well made. I’m a chef/baker and a Food Scientist for the food industry and I’ve had many good donuts, plus some bad, but Mr. D’s Donuts is my favorite here in KC, as they are always great donuts. The service is quick and very nice. The place is very clean. Very impressive all around. If you want great donuts, come here.

The mochi donuts at the OP farmers market are on a different level. I only tried one with raspberry icing, but I can only imagine the rest are just as good if not better. I would go to the farmers market for these donuts alone! Unfortunately, I didn’t try anything else, but I will definitely check out the store for some of the other donuts.

We used Mr. D’s donuts for our wedding and we couldn’t be happier with how things turned out! First, the owners (Johnny and Bonnie) were so helpful and sweet! They helped us make decisions regarding what we wanted served and were so accommodating when we asked to meet for a tasting. They also sent us the sweetest note for our wedding and followed up to make sure everything went smoothly. They are such amazing people! The donuts were INCREDIBLE and all of our guests loved them. We had such a difficult time choosing what to serve because we loved every single flavor of donut. We ordered more than enough and they were all gone very, very quickly because our guests enjoyed them SO much. We will definitely be back and would recommend this donut shop to anyone!

We moved to KC 6 weeks ago and found this wonderful donut shop when we first arrived. We have been back 4 times because it was that good. I can honestly tell you that I used to go to donut shops in our previous town about 5 times a year.
Mr. D’s has both cake and yeast donuts and we have tried most of them. Our favorites are the blueberry and maple glazed. The owners are very helpful, seeing the older folks in the morning enjoying their donuts is lovely and the smell when you first walk in is intoxicating.
Five star donut shop for sure! Mr. D’s has won our business.

My son and I have been going to a new donut place every Saturday for about two months. This is the only place so far that we definitely want to repeat. Nicest staff, cool vibe, awesome product.

Oh my god these donuts are everything. AND they are open at 5:30 am, so that means I will be bringing a lot more donuts into the office. The guy at the counter was so nice. Everyone at the office has commented about how awesome these donuts are. So light and fluffy and a nice little crunch from the glaze. Yum…

Mr. D’s is amazing!!! Out of every donut place in the Kansas City Metro Area, Mr. D’s is the absolute best without question. Also, the owners are the kindest people ever. We had Mr. D’s donuts at our wedding in 2019 and they were the easiest to work with and so reasonably priced. Everything about Mr. D’s is an absolute dream!! Will keep going here regularly forever no matter how far away we live!
