Yesterday, my husband picked up a tiered graduation cake that slowly slumped, cracked, and fell apart at our indoor party. The base cake crumbled in the back, causing a domino effect of destruction. We had to prop up the cake with folded plates as a stint in the back for the pictures. It was extremely unfortunate that it wasn’t structurally sound because it tasted delicious.
I’m giving this review 5 stars not because I like crumbling cake, but because I appreciate how understanding the manager handled this situation when my husband went back with the pictures and story of our experience. When a manager apologizes, promises to do better, offers a remedy, and still asks for your consideration in future business, that says that you are not only heard but also valued as a customer.
I appreciate this professionalism, and I won’t hesitate to return and place future cake orders.
