Original House of Donuts Reviews

Went through the drive-through at around 9:30. Was in and out in about 5-10 minutes. Friendly and helpful staff, and the ordering was pretty easy with the menu displayed right there.

Doughnuts were okay. Regular ones were not too sweet and had a lot of volume, while the cake ones were a bit sweeter. French crullers were small and rather greasy. A bit more expensive compared to the other places I’ve been to around town.

First what’s better then House of Donuts? Happy hour. That makes it even 10 times better. The girls in there were so nice and helpful. I felt for them. It was burning up in there. But they still worked there with smiles on. But hey we got donuts! So yum. So fresh.

The big lighted marquee and old-school building design gives the Original House of Donuts such a cool vibe. The staff was all friendly and seemed very happy to be there. We stopped in around 12:30 pm on a Sunday, and unfortunately they were out of a lot of basic flavors such as plain chocolate and vanilla frosted. The donuts we did get were ok, a bit on the stale side, but that may be because we came a little later in the day instead of first thing in the morning. They do have a drive-thru which is a plus for anyone on the go! Overall was a good experience!

Omg! These are the best donuts and coffee I’ve ever had! Isabelle and the rest of the girls are super nice and especially helpful. They were very patient while my husband and I made the tough decision of which yummy donuts to get! We are from Buffalo NY and will be back the next time we are in town.

Original House of Donuts is located in Lakewood, WA. They open at 6:00AM – 6:00PM. It is the best place in Lakewood to purchase donuts, friendly staff and excellent customer service. The donuts are delicious.

I grabbed a box because I was near the location in Lakewood. Only grabbed sugar and glazed for my order. Than another order for my daughters house. The glazed were not even glazed it’s like the glaze sunk into the donuts. The bottoms were wet. The dough was not tasty either. Biting into it was like old grease may have been used (?) or something. It felt like dough formed in my mouth as if it reverted back to dough. So weird. So I went to the next donut. Nope same thing. Spent 20 bucks on my box and now they are going into the garbage. Won’t be stopping here anymore.

Without question, the worst donuts I have ever had in my entire life. I ordered 6 donuts and they were unedible. Every single donut was stale, burnt, and tasted like cardboard with Splenda on top. Donuts that should be soft were tough. Donuts that should have been cake-like were were Ritz crackers. I mean this is the stuff of nightmares.

House of doughnuts huh lol am I the only one that thinks a doughnut shop should be open earlier then 6am, should be open at 5am by the latest. Anyway at some point they changed recipe, got new owners something because doughnuts are not good as they once were.

Updated review. The last few times we’ve gotten donuts here I’ve noticed these unfortunate commonalities: donuts are DENSE and very closed textured, stale, flavors are not always there. Some of these donuts are so dense I could get full from eating half of one. The flavors aren’t always there either. Some are good, but not the ones I like. They don’t keep well, if sitting on the table after 1-2 hours they’re already hard and turning stale. I’m going to assume they make the entire batch for the day at like 4 am and they sit there until closed so if you come in the afternoon you’re getting an 8+ hr old donut. That’s what it tastes like anyway.

Maybe I’ll try going back and updating the review then but not for a while.

Pros: the building itself is cute and the donuts are cute if that’s all you care about.
