Milkbomb Ice Cream Reviews

Super unique dessert tucked away in some calm streets in SF! I came here on a Saturday night and really enjoyed getting to see all of the options they had for ice cream sandwiches – we ended up getting the ube and matcha cookies and cream option with the ube sandwich. The dessert came out warm which was just stellar and it was just the right size to share – they cut it in half! There’s also a nice outdoor seating area so I’d highly recommend coming and getting a seat. Overall solid unique dessert option!

Less than the sum of its parts, at least for the signature “Milkbomb Sandwich”. The matchacado ice cream was tasty and the donut was delicious but the combo of the two had totally different textures that didn’t make for a great joint experience. Add some sticky marshmallow on top and it was just plain confusing to eat.

The staff is awesome, even if the wait is long! But next time I might just opt for a regular cone with a donut on the side.

My second time at this spot was even better than I remembered.

This time, I ordered an Ube Milkbomb Sandwich with Thai Tea & Hojicha ice cream topped with Milkbomb flakes – asian deliciousness!!

Although the store is operated by 1 person, causing a longer than usual wait… the service we received was wonderful. Major kudos to him! 🙂

Would I return? Helllllyesssss, bringing all my friends with me too!

Also, looks like they’re accepting applications for anyone interested.

Great ice cream but long wait! They have some very unique flavors like Lucky charms, creamy horchata, aqua dreams (their take on a cookie monster flavor) and thai tea. Their signature is the milk bomb sandwich which is a donut ice cream sandwich. The server was kind and helpful and we’ll be back to try some new flavors soon!

I mean, just WOW! This place is the BOMB! I’ve been dreaming about my birthday cake ice cream in a churro donut with chocolate sprinkles. My girlfriend got three scoops with charred marshmallows. It’s doesn’t get better than this!!

I don’t know who the designer of the ice cream is but he or she is a genius! I’ve been enjoying their ice cream since they had a truck many years ago. When I found out they had a brick and mortar I was super excited. The Salted Honey Lavender is the best! All their other seasonal ice creams are always on point! Definitely better then Afters Ice cream for me!

The ice cream here is AMAZING! I mean out-of-this-world, creamy, flavorful, balanced, delightful ice cream!
They’re a small family-run operation, so they don’t always have every flavor available, and sometimes the line seems to move slowly, but it is SO worth the effort!

2022 update: I generally stand by my defense of this small family business, but the hours are completely ridiculous.
Friday-Sunday 4 to 9pm? Really? This is my third time popping by on my way home, at what I consider a “reasonable” hour (2:30 pm on a Sunday), only to be disappointed. I have to think they would get more business between the hours of 2 to 4 than 7 to 9.

I hope they can hire a few people to help extend their hours soon.

Perfect summer treat. The Oreo PB ice cream in the middle of a glazed donut was just delicious! The staff is so nice and helpful. There are tables set up outside to sit in a clean area and eat. There is street parking out front.

After stuffing yourself with dumplings what better way to end the night with ice cream and doughnuts? They have a diverse selection of flavors (including Durian for the brave- not me but my friend) that will keep everyone happy. The best part was the toasted marshmallow on top and they flame it right in front of you.

The line can be quite long so make sure to bring your patience it will be rewarded.

This is the best ice cream in the Bay. Much better than Smitten, Salt & Straw, and Bi Rite. Innovative and beautiful seasonal flavors. Family run.
