I was craving a cream filled donut. To my disappointment not only was the donut stale but it was filled with WHITE FROSTING not pastry cream. I was sooo annoyed. Who uses frosting instead of pastry cream?? What a waste of time, money, and calories

Stopped at this morning to get some donuts for my son’s birthday. I did not check my order until I got home because I saw her bag them up and I knew it was correct. When I got home my plane old fashioned wasn’t just a day old it wasn’t a week old it was practically fossilized. By tapping it on the counter I was afraid I’d break a tile. The plain old fashioned was the same way extremely stale I paid 10 bucks for a half a dozen donuts and they sucked. Really disappointed and the lady behind the counter did not seem like she enjoyed being there it was if she was doing me a favor or I was putting her out for asking for some donuts. I’ll find another place

Simply the best donuts in the country. The cream filled cake donuts are like nothing I have every had anywhere. The corsaunts are very large amd flavorful. The owners are a nice hard working family and are excellent bakers.

Fast service, fresh donuts, fair prices. Plan an extra 10minutes if you go during morning Rush hour, the driveway gets blocked by the cars on spring street and sometimes takes a few minutes to pull out.

Showed up around 3:30PM midweek, inspired by the Hulu Donut King documentary. I’m not a big donut eater, most places I’ve been to are too dense and often taste like they’ve been sitting out a few days. Not the case at Sunny Donuts! This shop may have just inspired my cheat days to be dedicated to making a trip to La Mesa for their delicious donuts! They’re sweet, soft, airy, and there’s plenty to choose from even late in the day! We’ll be back! (We took some bites from a few in this pic, we couldn’t wait to get home!)

The quantity of donuts were as you would say “Slim Pickings” This is a popular donut shop. And I don’t like the fact that they charge .50 cents to pay by credit/debt card. They didn’t before and it’s sad . But I won’t be going back because my donuts I purchased tasted stale …..no more SUNNY D’S for me

My sister and I went into Sunny Donuts, for the first time…What a pleasant surprise. We we’re given A1 service. We felt like we were home. There was one customer at the counter, just as kind as the very long-bearded gentleman that helped us. Please go by and say hello and see all the many choices of DONUTS. They recently lost a customer and friend. We are sorry for your loss. Thank you for the great service. We needed that.

We would stop here after church once in awhile maybe 30 years ago!!! They have been here for many years, always kind, hard working family. I hope 7/11 and now Starbucks hasn’t hurt but hopefully enhanced their business. Easy in and easy out the parking lot

Very busy but really solid tasty donuts. I really enjoyed the crumb donut.
