The cake we ordered was tasty and our guests enjoyed it! We added our own fresh flowers and cake topper but they did a great job with creating what we asked for and the flavours were good (I would have liked more fresh strawberry filling but it was good overall). The price was reasonable too. I didn’t get a confirmation after placing my order and paying by interac but when I called they answered right away and confirmed my order.

I have never written a review but after 2 times of feeling like a nuisance I decided to write something.
I was looking for cupcakes or a cake and thought I would try sugar chalet as they were close to where I live. I ended up not using them as their customer service is beyond terrible, Its the guy. I had 2 encounters with him, first one was on the phone and I felt like I was bothering him. He was so impatient and arrogate. The second time I went into the store and I received that same attitude from him. He is in the wrong business to be dealing with the public he will kill that business.
I ended up going to another bakery in Oshawa and while I was standing there waiting for my order, another woman was waiting as well….she said in our conversation DONT GO TO SUGAR CHALET , the new owners are overpriced and there customer service is terrible. That confirmed to me that what I was feeling off that guy was accurate. I cant speak to there baking it could be great but customer service is everything to a business…and my guess is he will respond defensively to this…
And I just went through and read the reviews —everyone that had an issue is saying the same thing..buddy you need to listen. You are very RUDE. You need to not deal with the public

I am glad I ordered my sons birthday cake here. It was beautiful as well as delicious! The cupcakes i decided to get in store were awesome as well. Will definitely be ordering my second sons birthday cake here as well .

If I could give a minus 1000 that is what I would do. I ordered a cake 3 weeks in advance and also paid for the cake in full. When I arrived to pick up my cake that was for a 50th birthday party. There was no cake. I was told they did not get my order. I showed the owner my phone exchanges, email as well as my online banking receipts. All she could say to me was call your bank. As a customer service manager this is not the way to handle customers. What she should have said to me is “We are very sorry and we don’t have your order, what can I do to make this better for you?” Instead we ended up screaming at each other on what was my birthday. I will never order from The Sugar Chalet again and I will be sure to never recommend your bakery. I will tell everyone I can about this horrible experience. I know no one in your store cares about me however this was absolutely horrible. How can you ruin a milestone birthday and not show any empathy???

Ok. I can’t say enough about this place. We always get the chocolate cake because we love it but I’m sure their other flavours have to be good. We look for reasons to need cake. Go here you won’t be disappointed and they are nut free

I didn’t take a picture of the cake…no one wanted to take a picture of the cake. Ordered a 60th birthday cake and asked for an image to be blown up and inserted on the top of the cake. Was told I had to change my cream cheese icing preference to butter cream to accommodate the picture. Also told they couldn’t fit the sentiment I wanted around the sides of the cake. Price was $100.00, for a carrot cake with the number 60 in icing on the top with a happy birthday banner on the bottom. They cut out a picture they printed out and put the square piece of paper with faded out colour into the zero on the top of the cake. I was embarrassed to present the cake, hideous. The writing around the bottom of the cake was crude and honestly I could have done a better job. Ridiculously expensive for a carrot cake with buttercream icing….extreme fail.

Love Love Love Sugar Chalet!!! They made my wedding cake in 2020 and I have been going back non stop for ANY occasion that comes up! Guaranteed peanut free and guaranteed QUALITY!! I highly recommend Sugar Chalet!!

Well i give this place 4 stars because i have had positive previous interactions with the staff. Also, no complaints about the cakes and cupcakes.
I took one star off because my family members claimed they had an unpleasant experience with a staff member earlier today who was apparently unfriendly and lacked customer service skills.
