Not only does sugar have the most amazing desserts from cupcakes to chewies, to cake, they have amazing customer service! The first reason why we picked sugar to cater is because of our first impression. It was during strict COVID times, when people were only allowed one group at a time. My fiancé and I were inside and deciding on cupcakes to take home to sample for our wedding cake. Sugar stood up for us when an impatient guest tried to rush us, AND gave us a cookie on them! The second reason why we picked sugar is because they have beautiful desserts that taste amazing too! The flavors and genuine, not “too” sugary, and don’t have that artificial taste to them. We will always have a special place in our heart for Sugar’s confetti cake. 10/10 highly recommended for any of your catering needs!! Thank you, Sugar!!

The cupcakes have a perfect icing to cupcake ratio. The cookies are moist and decadent, no milk needed. The store keepers seem to truly have a passion for baking and it shows. This bakery was right up our alley. 5 stars for anyone with a sweet tooth.

Clean interior, fast and very personable service and an amazing array of offerings.
Lemon curd iced cake, chocolate cake with coconut icing and one other dessert that one of us (a toddler) ate so quickly I can’t remember what it was.
Incredible. Cake was moist and firm, icing flavorful and delicate.
Highly recommend. Prices were reasonable.
We were very impressed after hitting another well known dessert shop where prices were two times more expensive and not nearly as good.

Amazing cakes, presentation and taste were so great! We order a gluten free one, no one could believe it was gluten free, and a regular raspberry lemon cake- can’t describe how good it was!

The cutest little bakery on a beautiful Charleston street! Then you walk inside to all their yummy goodness! It looks and smells absolutely delicious. Then you take a bite and your whole world changes! Perfection! We have had our fair share of crumb cake in our lives, however, this crumb is over the top!! Taking some home to PA to enjoy when after vacation blues set in. Sugar Bakeshop is a must for all!

I had a very poor experience here. Ordered a cake and discussed the cake I wanted from a picture on their website. Go to pick up the cake and it was not as discussed per website picture. Was informed they do not do cakes that look like website pictures. Frosting selection was also wrong from the order. Wondering how there are pictures on your website and you don’t offer that cake. I was offered to return the cake for a refund but nothing more. Unfortunately I am from out of town and had no other option for a birthday celebration that evening and had to keep the cake. Disappointed in Sugar Bakeshop.

I was visiting Charleston with my boys for the weekend and wanted to try a few local bakeries. I was looking forward to tasty cupcakes, unfortunately, it didn’t happen. I ordered 4 cupcakes; strawberry, lemon-blueberry, honey and caramel. Each cake was extremely dry. You could feel the dryness when removing the wrapper. I still had hopes that maybe it was moist in the middle. The strawberry was actually chocolate cake with strawberry frosting. Very misleading for a strawberry cupcake, but at least the frosting was delicious. The lemon-blueberry was yellow cake with vanilla frosting. I expected to taste the lemon and blueberry throughout, but couldn’t find either flavor. The only blueberry came from the 3 sugared blueberries on top for decoration. Once again, the caramel flavor came in the form of frosting only, and while tasty, it was very grainy. Finally the honey cupcake was chocolate cake with slight hints of honey in the frosting. While each cupcake had tasty frosting, each one was overbaked. Next time I will try a cupcake in store before buying more than one.

Truly one of the best cupcake shops I’ve been too! I have been multiple times, and have never been disappointed. For me, I can’t speak highly enough of the almond cupcake. It’s legitimately the BEST cupcake I’ve ever had! This Bakeshop should be a must for anyone visiting Charleston!

It was a very hot day when we visited. So, instead of a typical coffee and pastry, we went for their cookie/ice cream sandwich. It was quite large and delicious. I would definitely return for a repeat.

The cake itself wasn’t moist just dry. The icing on the cupcake was delicious but the cake wasn’t moist at all. I tried the lemon curd cupcake. I’m from Birmingham, Al I’m used to cake melting in your mouth because it’s so moist. They should try not over cooking the cake or adding something to the mix to make it alot more moist.
