First time trying, wasn’t bad loved the chocolate chip cookie. My family also loved the donuts. This place is located inside the north western hospital. Place was very clean and smelled like goodies of course!! Didn’t try the coffee but you can also smell it upon entering the donut shop the staffs were pleasant and patient!!

I stand by these delicious donuts.

As my sister and I drove closer to our destination in Chicago, we spotted Stan’s and I made a mental note to check it out in the future. While I helped my sister with some family things, I found myself with about 90 minutes to kill. What did I do with that free time? Explored, of course.

I pulled out my phone and found Stan’s on my GPS. Once it pointed me in the right direction to walk, I booked it there. Upon entering, I noticed how packed the place was for lunch. Not worrying about that, I hopped in line and started to pour over the selection of baked yummies they had on display. Not only did they have donuts but they had bagels and things I wouldn’t classify as either a bagel or donut. Being the ever-indecisive person that I am, I let a few people pass me in line as I couldn’t decide what I wanted. Once I saw the Peanut Butter Pocket, I instantly knew that is what I wanted. Peanut butter is my weakness. I ended up ordering that and a medium house roast coffee.

While I was waiting for my coffee, I quickly snagged the last free table. Whew, I was worried I would have to eat my donut while walking around Chicago. After settling in, I went to town on the donut. It didn’t stand a chance against my hunger. While I didn’t eat all of it, I did put down most of it frighteningly quick. The only thing that was quicker was how sticky my hands got. Luckily there were plenty of napkins nearby. As for the donut itself, I did taste it while I vacuumed it down. Haha! It was filled with peanut butter, as I expected. It was pretty good. Donuts aren’t usually my think but if it’s a unique place like this, I will definitely make an exception.

As the donut disappeared, I scoured the area on my phone for a place to grab lunch. Once I settled on a place, I quickly cleaned up the table and left since it was busy and I didn’t want to hog a spot.

What about the coffee? I actually didn’t start drinking it until I got to Bombay Wraps. It was pipping hot and I used the cold walk to speed up the cooling down process. Once it cooled off, I was able to try it out. The coffee was on par for what you would expect for a house blend. It didn’t blow my socks off but it also didn’t disappoint either. It definitely warmed me up after the cold walk a few city blocks to my lunch destination.

Chicago is a massive city. You could explore a new place every day and never run out of places to try. If you do undertake a massive quest like that, make sure you hit up Stan’s near the start of it. If you happen to find yourself in town for a day like I was, definitely stop in if you are craving a donut.

Donuts good. Coffee good. Frozen salted caramel hot chocolate good. The donuts I had were delicious. Oddly not as sweet as I expected. This was a good thing. The donuts that were labeled pockets, seem to be a form of cinnamon roll looking pastry. Mine was lacking in the filing part on one side, but the side with bits of Butterfinger was amazing. They really were delicious.

My only issue which almost made me go “Karen,” was the fact that the 5 people after me got their coffees before me and I got a little attitude when I asked about it. In the coffee makers defence, it was crazy busy. AND I needed caffeine.

Donuts were delicious! Small outdoor patio along with indoor seating. The staff were super friendly and the store was clean. We had the cinnamon sugar donut and strawberry smoothie. We would definitely return.

I am a travel nurse in NW hospital and I happen to pass by this local donut shop.I was curious because the line was long and was excited to taste my first Stan’s donut.I was really surprised, the donut was so delicious. It was freshly made,I am a very basic when it comes to donut so I tried the glazed. The donut was so soft that it melts in your mouth.I tried the mango dragon fruit drink it was way better than Star bucks hehe..My husband tried the pineapple upside down donut,he loves it.There was pineapple filling inside.Overall this is a must try when you swing by Chicago.

Stan’s is a neighborhood coffee shop that serves creative, made-from-scratch donuts and locally roasted java. It’s a Chicago chain, and this location is in Northwestern Hospital. Earlier this week, I visited a friend having surgery, and I brought a box of donuts back to the exceptional nurses who were caring for her. Had no idea these are their favorites.

I got my friend the lemon-custard-filled “LeStan” Croissant Donut. And I splurged on a Biscoff Banana Pocket. The Biscoff is filled with caramel cookie butter and fresh banana slices, the top dribbled with more of the same, plus chocolate pearls. It’s rare I can’t finish a donut in one seating, but I had to save half of this for later.

The shop is on a corner with lots of windows and light streaming in. Impossible street parking.

I visited Chicago (my first time) with my friend. during the Taste of Chicago in July. I had the Mango smoothie and the Maple Long John, both were the best I ever had. For some reason the girls taking my orders on diff days did not get it right. I am sure it’s not me but would recommend you have them repeat your order just in case. We also went to Stan’s Donuts off Michigan Ave and got the toffee donut which was fluffy, moist and great. My friend got the bacon, egg and cheese croissant and said it was really good. I could tell it was nice and hot. I wish they were located in my state so guess I’ll have to come back to Chicago for Stan’s.

Love this place! Sooooo much better than any DD or bucks when it comes to food/donuts! Sooooo many selections. Lines to get long as they seem to be a staple in the area. Get up early and go get’em.

I love the “Le Stan donut” ( the croissant/ donut with the lemon custard filling, its my favorite. There is a flavor, texture and taste foe everyone if you dare to brave the variety offered. And even the safe old fashioned options are just as pleasing. It took a while to grow on me but I am a fan now.

I wish they would open a franchise in Ontario. Best donut I’ve ever had!
