Sidecar Doughnuts & Coffee Reviews

My favorite donut place in LA! So stoked to have this new location! Fresh donuts on the hour! All the cake donuts are great! I also love their monthly donut specials they have. So far my
Favorite is the passion fruit they had.

Gonna take forever if I do individual reviews for each donut so I’m just gonna leave my recommendations. My favorites are still the butter and salt, the original, and old fashioned. The other donuts are still really good but the 3 more plain flavors really bring out the flavor of their fresh ingredients. They didn’t have the basil eggs Benedict donut this time which is my personal favorite of theirs for uniqueness, wow factor, and taste. Their coffee is also string if you like strong coffee.

Their donuts are amazing. Different than a pink box type of place. More consistent with a cake donut. I strongly recommend eating them fresh. They are at their best recently out of the oven. But can’t go wrong even if enjoyed hours later. The location has parking but you need to remember to validate. Butter and salt is their most popular option for a reason.

Great donuts with really unique flavors and cute packaging. Got the basil eggs Benedict which was delicious – had a poached egg, basil hollandaise and ham!!! Definitely a must have there. Also ordered two of their fall seasonal flavors – sage apple pie (really didn’t like it, sage flavor was overpowering but my partner loved it) and pumpkin cheesecake (not overpowering pumpkin spice flavor, very moist). Their seasonable drink, the black fog milk oat tea, was great as well.

The Fairfax location is small so it only fit a few customers at a time and the acoustics make it difficult to hear/speak to staff. But they have an outdoor pickup window so you don’t have to stay inside.

Loved this place! Im from out of town and will definitely be back. Love the rotating menu of donuts. We split a few different flavors and definitely will be back to do it again. Loved the chocolate peanut butter! They have a shared paid parking lot in the back.

Probably the best donuts I’ve ever had in LA! They have a very unique variety that I didn’t see a lot and they are freshly made. The best part is that you may see how some of the donuts are made right in front of you! Definitely, will be back!

Sidecar doughnuts are the cakey type, a bit on the pricier side, but they’re still really good. I recommend the huckleberry one and the vanilla bean glazed too. The Fairfax location has a very convenient parking lot in the front.

If you haven’t had sidecar and are wondering if you should try it. GO. And don’t complain about the price. Yes these are expensive for donuts, but they’re also the best freshest donuts you’ll have in California.
That being said, I don’t like their coffee black. And for as good as their donuts are, I’m surprised at the lack of quality in the coffee. I love my coffee black and I couldn’t stand the last cup I had.

The donuts are and have always been the best I’ve ever had. So check this place out!

My weekend ritual doughnuts, Sidecar is making fresh doughnuts that are soft, fluffy with not overly sweet frostings- my favorites are Churro & Maple bacon 🙂

If you love cake-style donuts, there are always plenty because the more interesting ones (fruit flavors, filled donuts) are usually out of stock. Most times I stop by here, the unique donuts are sold out or there’s a 20-30 min wait for a new batch. If you happen to time it when donuts are just coming out, though, the taste & texture can’t be beat.
