Samosky’s Home Bakery Reviews

A good bakery is not easy to find, this place is.
The question is how much you are going to get.
I will post pictures the next time I visit because we have already eaten the stuff that we got.
Save your cheat day and get 4 ho ho like cupcakes that you can order from the confectionery smorgasbord in front of you.
The bread is delicious and preservatives free , can be cut for you by the old fashioned bread cutting machine.
A must have kinda place to visit.
For your unique Cleveland experience.

Traveling Terrezzas

So our travels led us here to try the paczki which I read Cleveland is known for and it did not disappoint. The paczki was airy and fluffy and the fillings sweet and just so good!!

This place is located on the outskirts of Cleveland but must stop by as it is a family-owned place, with very friendly people. We also tried other goodies and all absolutely delicious. And you cannot beat the price. We were shock how much goodies we left with for the price.

Assuntino Del vecchio

I bought a Nut strudel and cupcakes. Cupcakes was good. Nut strudel went up in price a lot. The nut Strudel was not fresh and the dough was a different recipe not the same but not good. I had few friend over no one liked it I had to throw it out. I do not know for sure if they have a new owner. A lot of the goods wear different then Usual. I went there once a week to buy Strudels not anymore. Go back to your old Recipe or you’ll lose more customers.

Not sure what happened to the strudel here but they are horrible. The cheese strudel is chalky and the nut strudel was so dark and dry it tasted like sugar free. The dough on them & the size is an embarrassment to the bakery. Been a customer for years but doubt I will be back. The prices for what they give you is outrageous. The 4.7 star review is from the old Samosky bakery. Not the new owners. Don’t be fooled!

The nut roll I believe I had was immaculate the tiramisu was good as well. But what really stood out for me was the friendly welcoming customer service. I had a great conversation with franchesca she was sweet and very open showing me around cause it was my first time there. Will be back to try more 🙂

Another sad case of out-of-towners buying a local gem and it loses what makes it special.

I don’t believe in leaving harsh reviews without constructive feedback, so if the new owners were less hostile and more personally invested in the quality of this historical Polish bakery, they could really turn things around.

This place is amazing. I live over 8 hours away but when I am in town I always stock up and bring back home to my family. I hope they start mail orders again.

First id Like to start by asking….If the new owners are reading this. Please change the bakery name. Because you are ruining the Samosky name. You really are. Now where do I start. I bought 2 chocolate cupcakes ( definitely not made on the day I bought them ) They were soooo dry and on the hard side. Dang near choked as I tried to swallow it ,even coffee didn’t help, plus I seen that they had the single slice of the poppy seed Roll which I loved when the Samoskys sold them. But when I seen that the price was double what the Samoskys sold them for I declined to get any. I use to get them when they sold them for .75. New owners sell them for $1.50. SMH. Plus I bought a butterfly poppyseed That thing had to be 2 days old. No lie. They say they make their pastries daily. Did their parents teach them not to tell a fib. 🙂 because they are not made daily. If you go in there look at their cookie area. Who only makes 4 or 5 of each cookie. Plus the cookies are sooo expensive for one cookie. I also notice before these new ppl took over the bakery, the parking lot would be packed. It’s never packed now . Also look at the the cream donut things. ( I forgot what they’re called sorry). They say the use the same recipe as the old owners. They do not. Samoskys use to sell them and they would be so big I couldn’t get my mouth open that wide. And it had sooooo much of the most delicious marshmallow cream ever. Now look at them. They are so small that a baby could eat it without any problems and it has so little cream in it. They need to sell pastries that are made on that day and not sell ones that was not sold the day before or even days before. Because that’s what they are doing. Not going back there anytime soon if at all. CHANGE THE NAME. STOP GIVING THE SAMOSKYS A BAD NAME.

I hate to pile on here, but the recent negative reviews are accurate. The new owner keeps trying to claim on here that they are using the same recipes as the previous owner, but the taste and texture of their strudels and kolachkis are not even close to what they used to be. Anyone who has purchased them recently can attest to that. And for the new owner to say that we should blame the president for their increase in prices? Pathetic. Leave your ignorant political views off of here and focus your attention on improving your baking skills.

Getting defensive and rude and making a bunch of excuses for the reasons why you are doing a lousy job does not change the fact that you are running this bakery into the ground. Call me ignorant all you want, the fact remains that your bakery is not good.

This is NOT the same bakery I have gone to for years! Went Easter Saturday to pick up my usual order of strudel and nut roll. The cherry strudel dough was cracked and they did not make lamb cakes any more. They are round cakes – it was ok . The pastry cases were completely empty when they used to be filled with all kinds of Easter delights. I asked if everything was the same recipes for the nut roll and strudel. They said yes -Not even close! I will be going to one of the other wonderful Parma bakeries next year because Samoskys is not the same!
