Pharaoh’s Donuts Reviews

Honestly I was expecting more from a name like Pharaoh’s. This shop has been open for more than a year and it’s totally blank inside, nothing on the walls, just a little case and a drink cooler. It really feels like a lot of wasted potential. The donuts weren’t too bad. My apple fritter wasn’t cooked at all and wasn’t really an apple fritter. This shop really needs some love and some oversight. There are at least 4 other places I’d get a Pharaoh’s Donut from before I came back here.

Best donuts in St. Louis, hands down. They taste incredible – the absolute best in my opinion are the classic glazed cake donuts and the jam-filled – although you can’t go wrong with any of them, and you can trust me on that as I’ve tried every single one.

Prices are super affordable. The donuts are high quality enough that I’d totally pay double what they are. But take the $$ you’re saving and tip the staff, because…

What makes the donuts even better are the people who work here. The kindest, most generous (and unbelievably good at baking) folks you will meet. If you are nearby, or even if you aren’t, definitely check out Pharaoh’s.

I just had regular glazed donuts and they were alright. It was was hard for me to find. The lady said that their sidewalk sign was gone which should be a major priority for replace since it will be completely overlooked without one. I also think they’d benefit by opening a bit earlier.
I recently tried the cheesecake filling,

We have lived in several countries and 14 States. These are the best donuts we have ever eaten! Not too sweet, not too fluffy, delicious flavor, everything – perfect! We got some fresh out of the back so they were still warm and they were amazing. Definitely will return.

Donuts were very tasty, location & service were great, but unfortunately everything else was lacking. Would expect some coffee options (both iced & hot) and a creative interior design that plays off their cool name & utilizes the space they have for a few tables & chairs, as well as a better layout for display cases & refrigerators. Yummy donuts without the fun donut shop experience.

Absolute honor to be the first customer in this location!

Pharaoh’s Donuts makes the best donuts in St. Louis. I have always wondered why they did not expand outside of Downtown St. Louis–perhaps to maintain that authentic quality. Nevertheless, when they announced that they were opening a second location in Central West End, I was very excited for this business. Given the absolute high quality and phenomenal taste of the donuts, there is no doubt in my mind that Pharaoh’s Donuts in Central West End will be extremely successful.

For this reason, I decided to wake up early to be the first customer at this location at the Grand Opening on 10/31/2020, and I achieved that prestigious honor. Let it be known that the first donut ever purchased from this location was a Blueberry Cake Donut, one of Pharaoh’ best overall product offerings. Because of the first-day promotion, I always got a Glazed Donut. Interestingly, this was my first time ever trying this–probably because I always order either the amazing Cinnamon Roll or Blueberry Cake, Red Velvet, and Crumb Cake Donuts. The Glazed Donut from Pharaoh’s is absolutely outstanding. It is light, fluffy, and the perfect sweetness. Because it was still warm at 7:00 AM when Pharaoh’s Donuts opened, that made it even better.

The Central West End location is very nice, and parking is easy. The one benefit of the Downtown location will be that you have the opportunity to get a donut that was literally just fried in the oil and glazed. There is nothing that beats this amazing fresh, sweet taste!

Give this place a try. You will definitely fall in love and have a new go-to donut shop!

Best apple fritter in town! I stopped by their new location this morning on my way into work and everyone was super nice and everything looked terrific. Most definitely heading back for that donut fix in the near future. *Update – red velvet is also scrumptious

Love these donuts! Great selection of different flavored cake donuts and regular donuts. We ordered half a dozen to sample as many as we could, and there wasn’t a bad one in the bunch. The strawberry glazed was a stand out, as well as the red velvet. The gentleman at the counter was super helpful and nice. He was sold out of his personal favorites, the cinnamon old fashioned and the boston cream, so we’ll have to go there earlier next time. Coffee is good too!

Drove all the way across town to try it out. The hours on their website and google say open till 3. When I arrived at 1pm I was told by the cashier that they are closed. I didn’t want to press but saw the case was still full of donuts and since someone was working I asked if I might be able to still buy a glazed donut. Unfortunately I was refused. Seems in poor taste to not keep accurate operation hours on your website.
