I was omw to work waiting for the bus & saw this store. Decided to try it out and I have 0 complaints, ended up getting 8 and they’re delicious. All my co-workers loved em! Please try em out, I also saw the sweet owner of the bakery baking some donuts that was awesome:)

Donuts are great! The apple fritter is delicious. So are the orange glazed, jelly filled, bear claws and the chocolate cream. Every donut I try is great and I haven’t tried all of them. I also had a cheese burger and fries and they were very tasty. The staff has always been nice as well. There are two reasons I did not give Old Fashioned Donuts 5 stars. First, the coffee is lackluster… Not bad, but not special. For a donut shop I would think coffee could be a bit more gourmet. Second, the decor and ambience is very very lacking. The storefront is clearly old school as you enter, but almost nothing is done to make it look inviting or even donut shop. The interior is cold and almost looks like a cafeteria. Cleanliness is not an issue as everything is clean, it just has nothing but a table in the center with built in swivel chairs. The donut shop is c l early a come in, get your donuts and leave kind of place, but some paint or wallpaper would make a huge different. Regardless, the donuts are great and you will love them.

Hands down the best donuts we’ve ever had. Made fresh there daily. You can watch them making it. I personally love the Blueberry but they are all good.
Definitely worth the drive.

THEY HAVE “THE BEST” DONUTS in the city! I especially go on Wednesday because that is Senior Day and I get a discount. I’m a creature of habit and with all the donuts they have to choose from, I prefer their glazed donuts. They are sooo delicious! If you’ve tried the rest, stop in at Old Fashioned Donuts and taste the BEST!

This is one of the Best donut spots in the City of CHICAGO! The team is definitely friendly. The donuts taste exactly the same as they did 20 plus years ago. The glaze, the chocolate, the strawberry frosted, the jelly filled, the cream filled, the old fashion, the sour cream, the chocolate cake old fashion, the lemon, etc. They are all good. The milkshakes are great too and the burgers, polishes and hot dogs will have you clearing your entire plate. I’m a food photographer so I get to try some of the best places and this is one of them.

I haven’t had any in a long time because I’ve been working so much I’ve been saying I need to stop and get me some donuts and I just haven’t had time to swing over there it felt like when I was in grammar School and I used to go and get two donuts and it took me back in the day and I was like oh it’s still the same taste the best donuts I ever tasted and the owner is still working in there and I don’t know if he’s liking his 80s or his ’90s but I give it to him he does a great job so if you have a chance go to old fashioned donuts it’s the place to get donuts

By far one of the best donut shops I have ever been to! The glazed donuts were absolutely delicious, as soon as you bite into it it just melts in your mouth. The Carmel Donuts are pretty tasty, but are very sweet as they lay tons of caramel on top of the donut. They also had pineapple coconut Donuts which were delicious as well, but taste more coconut than pineapple. Th It is about $10 and some change for a dozen donuts and if you come by 9 a.m. on the weekdays they will have certain pastries fresh I heard that is the best way to eat them. I got my mine toward the afternoon but they were still delicious. This place was packed when I got there and I am so glad that someone recommended this place to me. The service was very nice. This place could definitely use an update as far as the decor. You will not be disappointed however by the quality of the donuts that you buy. I will be back again to try other things and they also sell food.

I was able to get them FRESH out of the grease ! Sooo warm , Soooo fresh , such a delicacy! Very much so grabbed a dozen & a half . Very much so grabbed a extra donut when I noticed how warm they were lol
