Who’s down for mochi donuts?

Highlights of the menu:
1. Lilikoi: a bit sour with a taste of passion fruit, the popular and also my favorite
2. Matcha
3. Black sesame
4. Ube

The flavors of the mochi donuts are really vivid. The colorful glossy glaze on the donuts makes them so yummy. Having also the signature chewy texture with the crunchy on the outside. Especially, eating when the donuts are still warm. So good!

So far these are the best mochi donuts I’ve tried anywhere. You place an order on their website and reserve a time to pick up, and when you do, the donuts are freshly fried, so they are hot and fresh. The flavors differ by day, but their website tells you what flavors they will have on each day.

I think they are currently on a 24-hour waitlist, so if you want to place an order, do it the day before. The time slots go quickly, so try to reserve as soon as possible. And when you show up, have your e-mail receipt ready, because that is the first thing they ask for, and they won’t give you your donuts just by your name.

My favorite flavors at this one are black sesame and blueberry. All flavors are good, but if I see those two flavors on the menu, I reserve on those specific days. Their donuts are light – I could easily eat a few by myself. I recommend getting a few boxes if you are ordering for a party or gathering – the donuts go by fast with more people around!

We ordered online and went to pick it up. They made our order after we arrived so we had to wait for about 5 minutes. The donuts were very warm and yummy. All of them had a good flavor.

Tip: Online order is convenient; however, they only had 6 flavors (honey, chocolate, matcha, cookie and cream, sesame, Lilikoi – passion fruits) out of 9 flavors available at the shop. Online didn’t have strawberry, honeydew sugar, and cookie butter.

Love this. It’s funny how the Japanese word for “more” is motto, because this place make me think MODO please. Yummy. I would say the the lilikoi is not my favorite. It is a little too tart but the cookies and cream is really good.

I My sister suggested this place and I didn’t know how it would different from the mochinut place Fill we tried in Costa Mesa. The main difference is that this place makes fresh mochinut by order and the fresh donut is just heavenly. As soon as you place your order, they make the donut in from of you and dip in the delicious sauce to make the topping. They have different topping each day so I definitely come back to this place to try a different flavor.

Honestly, the best Mochi Donut place I have ever been to. They make their donuts fresh and hot, where most places already have it premade; so it’s cold and mushy when you get it, but not this place. Also the prices are more affordable!

I’ve eaten mochi donuts all over Los Angeles and Orange counties. I really think MoDo Hawaii is on the top of the list, mostly because they are served hot and they are just so good! I can’t wait to go back.

Got there about 5:30 on a Sat and there were only 2 couples ahead of me in the order line so didn’t have to wait too long The mochi donuts came out hot and fresh. So chewy and melt in your mouth! I will definitely be coming back.

This location is within the grocery store.

It was a very interesting first bite. The doughnut was doughier than I was expecting.

Then I found out that these doughnuts are suppose to resemble the Japanese desert mochi.

I ordered the Matcha Green tea, Coconut, Cookies and Cream and Blueberry. Each flavor had their own unique taste that was deliciously satisfying.

I don’t know how they were able to make doughnuts have the same texture and mouth feel as mochi but they’ve done it!

So come and enjoy a new twist on a traditional favorite that will have you craving for more.

The texture of MoDo mochi donut has a slightly crusty outer layer but soft and chewy inside. The lilikoi and coconut sugar are my favorite flavors. Cookie and cream only tasted sweet, no cookie flavor. Same as the match, didn’t taste any match, just sweet. They are freshly made and best when you eat it right then.

I had purchased a few times before and had to select the time available, place the order and pay online. You could only choose order of 6 or 12, and couldn’t pick the flavor you want. If you pick 6, they gave you 2 of each flavor. They only had 3 flavors everyday. These flavors changes daily.

But today, when I was at the food court, I saw that you can buy any amount and any flavor you want. Each donut is $2. And now they have 5 flavors plus 2 special flavors that change daily.
