Very cute space! The decor is fun and you can watch the baking happen from the comfort of your table. Obviously McLain’s is doing things right, because there was a line around the dining area when we visited. Both the veggie burrito and special bacon avocado havarti sammy were very tasty. Our coffees were delightful as well, though they got one of our orders wrong. My only other critique is that tables weren’t being cleaned between customers. The place was so busy people claimed tables before employees could get to sanitizing them. Overall, a pleasure. We’ll be back!

Stopped into McLain on my way back from from my morning walk. The place has customers. They have a wonderful selection . I’ve tried the danish. This morning, I got the red velvet cupcake. Can’t wait to get home and have it with a cup of coffee. The coffer there smells great. I just don’t want to walk home with it. Will have to try a visit where I stay for awhile instead of stopping on my walks.

My new go to for everything baked. It was so easy to order my items! From the first consultation regarding my custom order (Grace was AWESOME to work with) to picking up my order, everything was smooth sailing. I had an idea of what I wanted theme wise, but execution wise I was as clueless as the next when it came to how to make my order coordinate well. I ordered a dozen custom cookies and a 10” cake.
First things first, they are so fairly priced. They may be underselling their talent in my opinion. ♀️ Not to mention that the artist/designers who completed my order NAILED my inspiration pics. I’ll add those in my review for comparisons sake though the custom ones I got are Pinterest worthy themselves.
Incredibly happy with how my order came together and I have no problem recommending McLain’s on Waldo to anyone who will listen!

We used to love this place but it has not scaled well. Came in this morning to get birthday breakfast for my two year old and pick out a special birthday cupcake. They told me they were out of boxes and we could either have the cupcake for here (at 8 am) or they could smash it into a plastic cup. A $5 cupcake. Didn’t offer a discount or anything. I think we will be taking a break from, which is sad because it is where we normally get all of our cakes and cookies from. Major disappointment.

I ordered a dozen custom cookies for a bachelorette party and McClain’s knocked it out of the park! Everyone talked about how delicious and beautiful the cookies were for the entire weekend. McClain’s was professional and friendly throughout the entire process and priced competitively. I will certainly order from them again in the future.

Our wedding cake was amazing! We did cake & cupcakes, and all of our guests loved both flavors. We did chocolate cake with peanut butter buttercream, and vanilla with cream cheese buttercream. Everything was delicious including the gluten free options! They show up on time and make the communication process

Incredibly charming bakery. The overall vibe and decor inside is a beautiful blend of warm yet modern and chic. Also super cool that they have a walk by drive through if you aren’t able to stop and order inside. Also the food. Immaculate. I recommend the buttered roll, super soft and chewy and I am not a glaze person but the glaze was amazing and just the right amount of sweet.

Love this little neighborhood bakery. While I wish soy was a milk alternative option, that’s probably my only critique. After moving from the river market where I had a neighborhood coffee shop and bakery that were both incredibly dog friendly, I am pleased to say I have found my new spot in my new neighborhood. The best part is they are two in one. They not only give great service to humans but also to dogs. I hope they start a punchcard or loyalty system soon as that would be amazing. Nevertheless, still a perfect little spot with a great patio.

I ordered my dirty thirty birthday cake from them. I’ve ordered red velvet cake from bakeries in the past and have been very disappointed. This was not one of those bakeries. This is truly the best red velvet cake I’ve ever had in my life. I even had to order a holiday cake for the Christmas party from them this year.

We came here for breakfast and tried the smothered burrito, market bowl, pecan sticky bun and an almond cream cheese Danish. I highly recommend the smothered burrito and the almond cream cheese Danish. Each of our coffee drinks was delicious. We will be back to try other breakfast items as well as pastries and fresh breads.
