While fresh because they make less quantity, it is lacking flavor. I bought an egg, sausage and cheese croissant, flavorless on flavorless. Also bought a cake donut and while the texture is perfect, it tasted like old/very used oil and that unpleasant flavor lingered. For the same high price, you can definitely go to something sure like Shipley’s and get something that is constant.

Used to come here when I was little and the donuts were always delicious. Decided to go after many years was very disappointed. First, the donuts were cold and on top of that it tasted like cigarettes, which it didn’t surprised me because when the guy opened the window I could smell the cigarette. He didn’t wore gloves to grab the donuts and he had a huge nail fungal infection.

My boyfriend and I are regulars at this lovely donut shop. The workers are so friendly and are always smiling and have very great service. It is never too crowded so we feel comfortable eating in the shop and everything is spaced out just right in my opinion. The food is very great, we haven’t had a single experience where we didn’t like anything that we ordered. The donuts, pastries, muffins, sandwiches, and etc. are always a great portion for a really great price, you can always tell that they are made the same day, and is just plain delicious! The drive thru is also very convenient and the workers are very attentive to everything! We truly love this place and will definitely continue to be regulars!

Very bad experience here. Waited too long for “fresh” mediocre glazed donuts. Sausage in kolaches was not fresh. No hairnets, masks, or gloves worn by anyone working here. Older lady with unwrapped dreadlock was scratching her head while packing donut holes with bare hands. Worst family owned donut shop I’ve been to.

I’m from New Orleans, Louisiana and I lived in Baton Rouge for a few years after relocating from New Orleans. Mary Lee Donuts are amazing and I used to have their donuts frequently when I lived in BR. Once I moved to Houston I noticed that your options are only Shipley’s and…well Shipley’s. I actually hate Shipley’s because the donuts aren’t the same as Mary Lee’s. I stopped by a while ago and I was able to take a trip down memory lane, the donuts are so good!
