Lake Effect Ice Cream Reviews
I have never known the place till my friend introduced me and i love them for the first time. Evolution coffee flavor is unbeatable.
Excellent price with excellent portion.
I have been trying so different ice cream places but i admit this is my best favorite one. Try it and you wont be disappointed
The absolute best ice cream in Western NY.
Some flavors I highly recommend are:
Peanut Butter Epiphany – I don’t even like peanut butter, but this smooth and creamy peanut-y goodness is a must have.
Black Raspberry Truffle – if you like Perry’s black raspberry, Lake Effect’s will make you re-evaluate your entire life. It’s so delicious, creamy, raspberry goodness with bits of dark chocolate.
Whiskey Brown Sugar – creamy alcohol flavored deliciously yum!
Meyer Lemon – it was a 2021 flavor that I really hope they bring back. It reminded me of a lemon cheesecake. I highly recommend this flavor in milkshake form.
There are many more flavors, ice cream cakes, sundaes, cones. I usually order pints that you can request in any available flavor.
It’s worth the trip.
Lake Effect’s Blue Moon flavor is my absolute favorite ice cream! All of their ice cream is high quality, homemade and they have a unique menu of flavors. Don’t hesitate to try a flavor you think sounds wacky! I don’t live in the Buffalo area, but will stop in to buy a few pints of Blue Moon at least once a year.
This place was genuinely one of the highlights of my recent trip to Buffalo! What a find!! Honestly, if you are planning a trip- or if you live nearby and have never tried it (* gasp!* what are you waiting for!??) , your MUST DO items should include 1) Niagara Falls (it’s one of the wonders of the world, after all), and 2) this place.
We are still talking about it and have all decided the 6 hours drive would be totally worth it to have it again on any weekend.
– an ice cream loving Ohioan
Very good ice cream, decent price. Not as big of scoops as I would like, but nonetheless very tasty. I 1000% recommend the loganberry. Kinda sad that the london fog had toffee for it is something I dislike, but next time I go, I may get some just to try it out. Can get extremely busy though, but it makes sense.
Really busy ice cream shop. Not much parking. Outdoor seating available. Ordered the artisan salted caramel sunday with three scoops. Large portion sizes with good pricing. Ice cream was delicious and flavorful.
One of the most adorable local ice cream stands there is. Good prices, fast order filling, and wonderful ice cream. They have a loganberry flavor that is to die for. I highly reccomend trying this place at least once!
The ice cream is always delicious and hard to choose what to try each time. This past visit was odd as we were over charged for an extra cone. I showed the digital receipt to the cashier and she refunded me. Felt weird but hopefully it was an honest mistake. It’s now a WNY staple for gourmet ice-cream.
The ice cream tastes like Perry’s…. I ordered a brownie sundae aka a birthday sundae. The brownies were the 3 half pieces of the circle mini brownies you buy from the grocery store, with 5 scoops of ice cream. The ration was off to say the least… and I’m still scratching my head at what part was artisanal, those brownies are from Tops. Slap a name on anything these days I guess.
You’ve never known joy until you’ve tasted lake effect ice cream.
The flavors I love so far:
Salted Caramel, Loganberry, London Fog, Strawberry & Cream, Extra cookies extra cream, silver cloud vanilla, Frozen hot chocolate, Whiskey Brown Sugar, Raspberry & Lavender, Raspberry & Lavender and Butterbeer
