K C Donut Store Reviews

Saw this place today & decided to give it a try. It was also 3pm & It was dead inside & I had to ring their bell & the most sweetest little lady popped out from the back. I got a lemon & a spinkle donut & they were so soft & so delicious! I’m impressed! I’m so glad I dropped by. The woman was even sweet enough to give me samples. Please be good to them & show them love. They deserve it.

Stopped in for the first time since 2017 today!
Used to be a daily breakfast stop when I lived off Brodie.

SO glad to see my wonderful friends at KC Donuts still thriving. Plus they’ve got some new tricks up their sleeves: lemon iced blueberry old fashioned and a cookies & cream?!?!

As I relished my familiar breakfast sandwich and large watermelon iced tea, my wife enjoyed her obligatory order of (racquetball-sized) donut holes.

Distance has made frequent visits implausible now, but this will not be our LAST visit.

Truly one of the best donuts I’ve had in a long, long time. Other places are too sweet or greasy or the dough is a bit off. Here the dough is perfection – great bite but light and flavorful and perfectly sugared! I went close to closing and the donuts I got were fresh and delicious – I can only imagine how good they are in the morning!

Wasn’t a fan. I have been looking for a good donut shop for awhile. Tried here because of the reviews. Got there 45 minutes after they open hoping to have a good selection since it seemed so popular by the reviews, and they didn’t have any glazed yeast donuts. Only cake donuts. They told me that the yeast donuts wouldn’t be done for awhile. That frustrated me because our family prefers yeast donuts. Looking at the reviews everyone raves about their stuff that isn’t yeast donuts. I got some cake donuts, several old fashions, bacon maple, apple fritters, etc. bacon maple had way more frosting than I’m used to on a bacon donut. They were just okay. Just felt like a huge waste of money. I should have just left instead of buying donuts I’m not that interested in.

First time rating anything online. I felt compelled because these were some of the best donuts I’ve ever had. On par with the donut shops of places I’ve lived in the past (Sweetwater’s in Kalamazoo, MI; Greenbush in Madison, WI). Simple shop made run by bakers who clearly know what they’re doing. The cake donuts were perfectly fried with a crisp crust and tender inside. The yeast raised donut holes (amazing idea) were also perfectly fried and fluffy – not too heavy. No fancy toppings, no fancy anything. After trying a number of very sub par to downright terrible donut shops I’m glad I finally found a place worth returning (frequently).

First, the good. It’s the best donut shop in south Austin. Hands down.

However, they’re supposed to open at 7am and it’s so inconsistent, often well after 7am. And when they do open, they do not have everything ready. I have to miss out on my way to work because they aren’t open yet.

Best donuts on the south side. We’ve been trying all the different donut/kolache places on the far south side to find our favorite and this one is definitely the best!

Don’t kolache places warm up kolaches before handing them to the customer? Didn’t happen. I ate mine cold. Didnt feel welcomed here at all either. My daughter enjoyed her donut tho.

This has been my favorite donut shop ever since I moved to south Austin about four years ago. Love their croissant bacon and egg sandwiches. And the donut holes are big, which I love. My favorite is the bacon topped, maple glazed, cake donut. The owners are the sweetest and they definitely deserve your business.

From the outside this place doesn’t look like much, but the donuts are delicious, the variety amazing. All of them are a bit expensive but I’m going to chalk that up to Austin pricing. Super friendly, helpful, and great to buy from.
