Junction Bakery & Bistro Reviews

Junction offers a wide selection of really solid food with incredible service and a delightful ambiance that’s perfect for a relaxed and casual coffee, breakfast, brunch, or lunch. I came by for a post-church lunch with a friend on Sunday afternoon and absolutely loved it. We were seated outside, and, while the flies were a bit aggressive, we still thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

My friend and I both opted for their salads — I went with their sesame kale salad and she chose their vitality citrus salad with salmon. Both salads were absolutely delicious, with a wonderful balance of elements, delightfully refreshing, yet satiating dressings, and really fresh ingredients. The sesame kale salad was, honestly, quite basic and didn’t stand out, but it was also made with incredibly fresh ingredients and was very predictable. It’s not my top recommendation if you want to try out something ~new~ and ~creative,~ but if you aren’t looking to be too adventurous with your salad choices, it’s definitely a really solid and safe option.

I will also admit that adding salmon — or any protein, for that matter — was a bit pricey, but my friend said that that the grilled salmon was delicious and perfectly cooked, so it was definitely a worthwhile indulgence.

Also, I can’t say it was the best thing to pair with salad, but I saw their vegan hot sauce on the table and just couldn’t resist wanting to try it out — it was absolute perfection. A wonderful balance of sweet, savory, salty, sour, and, of course, spicy flavors, with a delightful kick. Highly recommend giving it a shot. 🙂

Junction has definitely become one of my local favorites in Del Ray for a quick, casual bite, and I can’t wait to try out a few more items on their menu — they seem to have a bunch of amazing options, and I love that everything is clearly labeled for various dietary restrictions.

The gourmet salads and assortment of baked goods for our military medic appreciation event was beyond expectations! The salads were fresh, unique, and delicious. The sweets were not only beautiful to the eye but also flaky and decadent to the palate. Everyone raved about the food, and Junction Bistro and Bakery made our luncheon an overwhelming success! I will definitely go to the restaurant to try other menu items, and many staff members have asked for their information, too! Thank you for your excellent service and donation!

Breads are good, would prefer if the establishment used gloves when handling them. Lunch dishes are fair, falafel bowl is more like a quinoa bowl. I have had many others dishes, similar issues. The fries are great. Not a fan of the coffees but the pastries are yum. The value for the price isn’t there any longer. Really enjoyed this place for a while.

Charming place with unique bakery items like the cruffin and upside down blueberry muffin . Coffee is great – we had a latte and Americano paired with a cheese and chive biscuit with butter and the decadent muffin with swirl . Lunch selections looked great and a nice selection of gourmet hostess gifts to buy. Fresh bread that is real bread. Thank you to the patient Staff member who explained things to the Australian with lots of questions lol

Had a hard time deciding on what to get because it all looked SO good. Ended up getting the Cubano and was not disappointed. The location is super cute and my iced latte was also to die for. A little on the higher cost side but totally worth it!

Stumbled upon this cute bakery and so glad I did. I grabbed a Caramel Apple Latte (to-go), a Blueberry Cinnamon Roll (sounds great, right?), and French Onion soup. I haven’t had a good French Onion Soup in a while, so when I saw this on the menu, I HAD to try it. (In case you’re wondering how ordering this trio came to be)

The set up inside is nice and it’s more of a ‘serve yourself’ concept. You order and pay at the counter and if dining in, you sit wherever you want and they give you a number display stand so they know where to bring your food. There’s also a water canister for cups of water while dining in.

Although there’s not much interaction with staff in the grab & go style here, AJ, a member of the team, was very helpful and welcoming. I’ll definitely come by when I’m in the area for a tasty latte, a unique bakery item, or have lunch.

Chai chia pudding was good, so are the pastries and coffee. For non dairy alternatives they have almond milk and soy milk. The chive cheddar biscuit was particularly tasty. Not too dry and doesn’t fall apart, good mouthfeel.

We got the veggie burrito which was pretty bland. The home fries feel like they’ve been sitting under a warmer all morning, and there was a piece of plastic in them. I’d return for the pastries but not for the kitchen menu because it’s not really worth the price.

Delicious!! Shared a hamburger and a cubano sandwich!! Boy!! I was blown away by the flavors of that cubano. At first I was worried that I’d have a chunk of dried pork but I was mistaken. Flavorful and juicy!!! Best Cuban sandwich ever !! Also bought some croissant!! Almond and chocolate was very good!! Will definitely try to go back!!

We were so fortunate to have Junction Bakery and Bistro’s support during our Nurse/Tech appreciation week festivities at Bolling Air Force Base! The salads and pastries were absolutely stunning and insanely delicious. The strawberry lemon filled pastry was a clear standout. It was almost too pretty to eat…after one bite we were all in HEAVEN! Amazing! Can’t wait to enjoy more menu selections. Thanks so much!

While walking in the area, I was looking for a place to get some work done. Found this inviting corner cafe and went in. Got myself an iced vanilla latte on a hot, muggy afternoon. Also had a sweet craving, so tried their almond danish. Both items were really good. Plenty of tables to sit inside and outside (on good weather days). Del Ray has a lot of great cafes and Junction is definitely one of them.
