Hillside Coffee & Donut Co. East Reviews

Eve

Got a delicious cold brew with honey and milk sand a blueberry tea. Along side with a chocolate chip and macadamia cookie. Such a delicious treat and so soft with a hint of crunch on the edges. Really love the coffee here.

Got there at 0800 when they opened, the service was friendly and fast. Ordered an iced tea blueberry and turkey egg white sandwich. Both were delicious, warning the iced tea is tart or maybe I needed to request sugar/agave. The only other downside was the large looked a little smaller than normal drink sizes.

These donuts come from a a place of a passion and it shows in the quality of the donuts and the atmosphere built around them. I keep coming back because the prices, donuts and cold coffee are great!

I have been to this location several times and always feel the experience comes up short. The employees behind counter always seem to be more focused on their conversations than helping. Two times, I was the only one in line and had to wait 8 minutes to order a black coffee. Recently, I ordered a breakfast sandwich and it took almost 40 minutes for it to come out. The coffee is okay, but will be looking for another spot

Should have listened to the other reviewers. The staff doesn’t seem to understand when you don’t want something on your sandwich. I don’t eat meat and ordered JUST egg and cheese. The sandwich arrived with bacon, mayo, and tomato as well. I didn’t realize I had to also say no mayo or tomato when I said just egg and cheese so that is on me and I’ll know better if we ever try here again. When mentioned that the order was supposed to be just egg and cheese the very same person who took the order asked “oh did you order it like that?” Yes, yes I did and you took the order… Also got almond milk instead of oat which is fine but not what I ordered. Coffee and donuts are fine. Will keep looking for a go-to coffee shop.

Order two bacon egg and cheese sandwiches, both with no tomato, and no garlic mayo. One sandwich had no cheese, and bacon just thrown on top of the hash browns. The second sandwich no cheese as well, the bacon was able to make its way inside the sandwich with this one, they still put that garlic mayo on there, and tomato. Both orders had hash browns that had a rubbery melted slice of pepper Jack cheese on it. Two over priced sandwiches not worth what they charge. First and last time going back. Girl at the counter seemed annoyed when taking my order and annoyed when handing me the food. They were all too busy chatting with their friends that went to go visit them, and allowing them to go back in the kitchen as well.

As a major coffee drinker, i ordered medium coffee which was too strong and cold. The coffee grinding container needs to be cleaned. There’s a lot of oil stains from old coffee that needs cleaning because then your fresh brew taste is altered. The seating area is dirty as well it needs a major deep clean. Hashbrowns with cheese were good. Bacon egg and cheese sandwich was bland and oily even though the bacon was over cooked. The abuelita donut was delicious but I would have loved it if it was not cold. Service was also subpar. 1st time and last.

The food was great as it had just the right amount of sweetness without requiring a dental appt afterwards.
The coffee was smooth and delicious (it’s roasted at 2ten Roasters) and woke me up!
I definitely recommend this awesome lil coffee shop as it checks those boxes we want from a coffee shop.

STOP. I know what you’re thinking, “it can’t be all that bad”. IT IS THAT BAD, LISTEN TO THE REVIEWS. I sat in the drive thru for 10 minutes waiting for someone to get on the intercom and take my order, I drove up to the window and waited instead. Plenty of workers passed by the window and never acknowledged me. The best part…. IT WASNT EVEN BUSY. It was a ghost town inside the restaurant and parking lot. Listen to the reviews. Awful, awful, service it doesn’t matter if it’s busy or not. You will wait because no one wants to work in there. It could potentially be a managerial problem if it’s consistently THAT BAD. Beware.

I’ve been here about 3 times now. They never have the full menu of donuts available and their donuts are very greasy and heavy. Their coffee isn’t that great. It’s always really bitter and strong.
