Can’t go wrong with fresh. I Always like the options. Wait times have always been acceptable. Cake donuts are wonderful along with the apple fritters. I do not eat raised donuts so I cannot rate those. Will definitely go back.

Wow. My boyfriend and I had regularly been buying Greenbush’s old fashioned donuts at the grocery store when they had them, but I had never been in their storefront until today, when we decided to have a donut picnic for his birthday.

We got an assortment of 12 donuts, and although we haven’t finished all of them quite yet, I had to come on here to say,

If you’re looking for a place to get donuts, GO HERE!!

We came around early afternoon and they had already been pretty cleared out, but even the donuts that were left were all SO GOOD.

We got some classics like chocolate sprinkle, regular glazers, and a bunch of old fashioneds, all of which have been so yummy. The glazers were perfectly fluffy and not overly sweet or sticky. The chocolate sprinkle donut had a nice crisp outer layer and was also soft and fluffy on the inside, per my boyfriend. The frosting was perfectly creamy without being overly saccharine, even with the sprinkles!

I’m here, however, to talk about the blueberry cake donut with maple glaze. OH MY! We unfortunately only got one, bc I’m not big on cake donuts and my boyfriend’s not big on blueberry. This was, to put it lightly, a mistake. Both my boyfriend and I, despite our previous biases toward this donut, agree it is the best donut we’ve ever had. My boyfriend’s first remark upon taking one bite was, “This is like a whole breakfast!” And I agree; it’s like blueberry pancakes with maple syrup, in donut form. The donut itself was perfectly spongy and soft, with a light blueberry flavor that wasn’t overly artificial like many blueberry donuts tend to be. The glaze was sweet and bursting with flavor, and was an unexpected but welcome addition to the blueberry flavor. Definitely coming back in the future, if not just for this one specific donut.

We’ve already had the chocolate old fashioneds on occasion, which have always proven to be wonderful,(as we keep going back to buy em!) and I’m also excited to try the cherry old fashioned, which looks super yummy!

So in summary, everything was absolutely wonderful and definitely made our birthday picnic that much more special. Thanks, Greenbush!

Had a craving for donuts while traveling and looked up local donut places and stumbled upon this place. The girl working recognized my fiancé’s obscure band shirt while helping us pick out a variety of flavors to try. She was amazing and super helpful and as a result the donuts that we tried were probably the BEST donuts we have ever had, the maple- blueberry old fashioned was my absolute favorite.

Great selection of donuts and coffee and price is very reasonable for the heart of UW.

The donuts are amazing and for a great price! But the customer service is so horrible. The guy at the bakery is very rude. When we asked for what the different flavors of donuts he was getting irritated. there are no signs there with the flavors so it’s hard to know what’s in each donut. If the guy was better, I would give this place 5 stars. Please change your customer service.

Kosher/vegetarian bakery, good variety, and absolutely fantastic donuts. They’re good, inexpensive, and convenient. The classic sour cream glaze is the donut of my childhood. Highly highly recommend

Quaint local bakery in Madison with delicious kosher donuts and treats. The staff is very friendly and the variety is great. Even if you miss the morning rush – a lot tends to sell out first thing – their classics like the original cake, glazed, and blueberry donuts are delicious. The apple fritter is fantasticly H U G E and was able to be split between 5 of us. Having not been there before and placing a to-go order over the phone, I was glad the staff talked me out of the 3 fritters I originally thought we’d need – 1 was plenty!

If somebody asks what the best donut is in Madison, it is not up for debate. Greenbush all the way. Not even close and not up for debate. You say otherwise and I WILL FIGHT YOU!!!

Service always great and friendly.

Only bad marks I could give are that I have had A COUPLE times I arrived and they were pretty well sold out of everything. (To be fair, this hasn’t happened since they relocated across the street.)

The coffee there is also a bit meh.

But you’re probably here for the donuts, so… they’re forgiven for a mediocre cup of Joe.

I am very thankful that I live a 20 minute drive from here. If they were just up the street from me, I would be diabetic.

We used Greenbush for our wedding donuts and would highly recommend them to anyone else looking for a dessert for their next event. They were so easy to work with and the donuts were an absolute hit at the wedding…and of course they were delicious.
