El Paso’s Bakery Reviews

I remember going there with my Mom many years ago when I was a kid in the late 1970’s and early 1980’s when that same location was called ‘Carlos’ Sweet Shop.’. Many of my birthday cakes were purchased there. There are so many beautiful memories attached to that location. But my many visits to this current shop are sweet also. The pastries are delicious and I love the friendliness of the staff. They actually tell you ‘Hello’ and ”Thank You.’. Not all stores do that. I plan on many more visits there.

Oh holy moly… This little bakery pumps out more sweets then the got dang chocolate factory. I don’t remember the ladies name that rang us up but she was ALL service . Made sure we got what we wanted . Menudo isn’t too greasy, was delicious, tamales (a little small but I’ma giant) pretty tasty and the sweets… Mmmmmm I had to live my best life and not be self conchas … Cuz I ate too many of em!!!! 10/10 My FAVORITE bakery in town .

This building has been a fixture in this neighborhood for, I believe, at least 50 years. It was called Carlos’ Sweet Shop before for many years. Carlos was a very nice man. I’m glad it stayed a bakery. I hope it always does

Too crowded with displays making it difficult to get around. Bread and pastries are days old sometimes (you can tell by the way the filling tastes sometimes-vinegary). It’s really good when you can get it fresh!

I know it’s the holidays and tamales get a little expensive. But these guys charged me $45 for 1 doz tamales and 7 pieces of bread. And they werent even good. Price gouging much?! I’m sorry Bowie Bakery, I’ll never cheat on you again. No wonder it’s called El Paso Bakery…corrupt like its politicians. NEVER AGAIN!
