Edgar’s Bakery Reviews

I love going here for brunch. The baked goods are obviously amazing. My favorites include the strawberry cake (what they’re known for), cinnamon roll, Pecan roll, lemon bar and little square cakes. Not a huge fan of their cannolis but I have really high standards when it comes to those. The atmosphere is relaxed and industrial. The coffee and the service is great. My favorite brunch items are the cheddar biscuit and the veggie bowl. Highly recommend. Enjoy!

Lemon cake was good. Not as moist as I had hoped. LOTS of icing and very sweet. Will try the strawberry cake next time we have recently heard about. Ordered online. They have a parking spot for online pickup that made the experience quick and easy that I was thankful for. Writing on cake was not professional but was not important. Was able to purchase cake cutter for $1.08 extra which was thankful for. I felt like the cost was average.

I had breakfast few days ago. You can order the breakfast before 10:30. I especially love breakfast menu at this place.

Outstanding selection of baked good. Everything is super fresh. Allow extra time in the morning for longer wait times.

‘Was meeting an old college buddy, in town from ATL and wanted to have breakfast at something unique to Huntsville.

My first thought went to Edgar’s…as I had been to the other location for lunch and baked goods many times.

Tucked on the corner of quaint Lil Providence, Edgar’s is a perfect place to grab breakfast or lunch.
But Beware! You’ll find 4-5 other things you want while waiting in line!

Ordered the ‘breakfast sandwich’ with homemade jalapeno bread and melted cheese for days!
And if you like cinnamon, who can resist their warm, Honey Pecan ‘sticky buns’?!?

As I like to say, “Oh my Gearrhd, Good!”

I have been trying to get a cake tasting for a couple weeks and I have gotten no response from anyone. When I went in store, I was told that I had to fill out a form online and request an appointment, which is fine. Did that a couple weeks ago and never heard back. Called the next week and someone said that they would check and someone should be in contact in 24hrs. Put in another request, again no response and the date requested passed. Called again and got the same answer. I even called the one down South Memorial and got the exact same response. I am moving out of state and wanted to get the cake tastings in before I move because I’m not going to be driving 8hrs back to try cake if they finally answer. The website talks about the experience and care of the coordinators but I’m not getting any of that on my end. I could keep filling out request forms until someone gets back to me, but that seems like way more effort than it is worth. Edgar’s seems like a lovely bakery and I would’ve loved to give them my business but I cannot be chasing down a bakery that clearly wants nothing to do with me. Maybe they’re just good for simple cake orders and in store options, maybe they don’t do weddings anymore, or they weren’t available for the requested date. Any answer would’ve been acceptable, but the radio silence is not a way to do business.

This was my first experience with the bakery. The night before after dinner I stopped by because I heard so much about the strawberry cake. I saw the strawberry cake but then I noticed the caramel cupcake and couldn’t decide. I asked the guy behind counter if they used the same ingredients for the cupcakes and cakes and he affirmed they did. So, I opted for the caramel and strawberry cupcakes. I had no plans to eat all of them both, but when I say that they were delicious… that’s an understatement. I think it depends on your palate, but the caramel cupcake was the winner, for me. Only, because I don’t like overly sweet desserts and that strawberry is very sweet. I then decided that I’d check them out for brunch when I saw they stopped serving breakfast at 2 pm on Saturdays. I didn’t know what I wanted for brunch because the choices were so good. I decided on the Breakfast Handheld Ham & Bacon Cheddar Biscuit, Breakfast Potatoes and the Bacon Cinnamon Roll. Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING was delicious. I took the bacon cinnamon roll to go, but I tasted a piece of it and was not disappointed. Oh, and let me say the staff was very helpful, accommodating and friendly. We opted to sit outside for brunch and the atmosphere was amazing. The weather this time of year was a definite plus. I’m 100% positive that I’ll be back during my next trip to Huntsville to try some of the other items on the menu. up….

Edgar’s did an amazing job on our wedding cake. I’m very pleased with the experience we had at the Providence store. Their team is fantastic!

Had breakfast here with the family. Coffee is pretty standard and self serve, but then again, they’re not Edgar’s Coffee Shop. Their quiche is the best quiche I’ve ever had in my life, and their strawberry cupcakes/cake is to DIE for!!!
Definitely pricey, but this IS Providence, so that shouldn’t be surprising.
Only thing that’s disappointing is their to-go boxes are plastic. You’d think, being in a progressive location, that they would have switched to more eco-friendly options.
Overall a great place though.

My boyfriend and I have been dying to come here but with both of us being vegan we are pretty sure there’s nothing we can eat. The place looks so cute and fun- please consider adding even just one hearty vegan item to the menu or a vegan baked good! We would be so excited and grateful!
